1  Economy / Economics / Re: Classification of possible attacks on Bitcoin on: November 14, 2017, 11:50:34 AM
All this attacks are sure to come for project like bitcoin. I will say the most potent of all the attacks illustrated is the one from within and that is the one from both forks and the spamming attacks. Someone who is not techy savvy will not know how to spam the network to make things difficult neither will he be able to ensure there is a forked version of bitcoin. Its when all this inner fork are successful, before the one coming from external factors starting to take prominence such as the legal attack and every other attacks that want to come its way.
2  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Be careful when you received this email! on: November 14, 2017, 10:51:35 AM
In this era of phishing attack here and there, one should not just act based on emotions when you receive any emails even if its a legit one. In my own case, before clicking any email, other than the ones I intentionally instituted such confirmation emails that you get when you want to access your account. All I do is to first go to their twitter page to confirm if such issue is being reported then I know what is the next to do.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BCH or BTC? on: November 14, 2017, 09:39:58 AM
BCH has done some speculative statements to increase the value of the coin so the miner companies can dump their coins each for $2400 instead of 300. That was just a game they have played to manipulate the market. I would highly recommend everyone to stay away from BCH because they are not really trustable people.

What I have read is they and they are the ones trying to manipulate the market without any one pointing to give a credible evidence that someone or group of people in particular are the ones responsible. I personally, would not for whatever reason take BCH over BTC and those who felt otherwise, good luck with them and we wish them the best of what they hoped for. And now that BTG has launched, I will like to see the other card that would be played in that regard.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum Token Represented by Diamonds - DIMND - Pre ICO is Live now!!! on: November 14, 2017, 08:57:42 AM
Having visted the website and realize that its just less than 4 days before the pre-ico will end, I tried participating but the only way to do that is through ETH which is something I found a little bit stress because I have to go through an exchange to have some of those. Also, the minimum amount of investment which is 1ETH and that is about $300+ which is equally high. But you have your reasons to have chosen that as a bench mark though.

What is the next thing after the end of the pre-ICO?
5  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Why Crypto Detective Agency is started? on: November 13, 2017, 09:09:18 PM
Crypto Detective Agency, is it some kind of government agency and what are they created for? Is it only for Russia or is it spread worldwide?

If they actually exist, then their function is already identified by their name and its about tracking down people engaged in crypto currency. Its when the details of their job description is known before we know the extent of their scope of activities. On whether its existence is in Russia, there would definitely be something like that in the advanced countries who already started clamping down on crypto currency but they could be referred to in another name depending on the location and environment of the country.
6  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Help - Crazy high transaction fees from Exodus wallet during withdrawal!!! on: November 13, 2017, 06:53:20 PM
Right now, I have about 324 usd in bitcoin in exodus wallet and i can only withdraw up to 252 USD max because the rest will be fees.
This is because I have been receiving small daily payments in bitcoin from mining to this wallet.

Earlier i withdraw 60 dollars and got hit by about 130 USD in fees...this is insane

How do I stop this? Pls advise
Do u use a different mining wallet?

This is more than crazy rather its ridiculous and it's something that needs to be attended to by the bitcoin core developers because it seems miners have just decides to kill bitcoin on their own but the issue is if the difficulty and the cost of being a miner is not too much where the miners are spread all over, all this will not be happening but its because the mining and confirmation of transactions has been centralized to some set of people, that's why challenges like this is being faced.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can the government or banks create their own crypto? on: November 13, 2017, 05:30:31 PM
With the likes of government , NSA ,banks etc..Could they coordinate into creating their own crypto to defeat Bitcoin?
Creating something like 'Legal Bitcoin' , invest and pump, make it succesfull? Make markets aware
Maybe even create their own cryptography where they could still be able to decypher code if they needed to?

With the way the crypto is, even you as an individual can create your own coin or say token with little or no effort, just having some amount of money to.cover the logistics not to talk of government that have all the resources at their disposal. Tlak about the media, the unlimited fund to push it, and even the force of the law to.ensure compliance and much more. How will they not be able to create their own coin but maybe their interest is into something else or they feel the time is not ripe yet to push something like that but sooner or later, it might get to that level.
8  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin casino's are the FUTURE! on: November 13, 2017, 04:38:43 PM
Hi everyone,

I just wanted to say that bitcoin casinos are so much better then normal one's, most of the bitcoin casinos have instant cashouts when you look at normal casinos it takes atleast 5 days to get the money to your bank account.

BITCOIN CASINOS ARE THE FUTURE!  Grin Grin Grin Grin

This is something we all know and thank you for further pointing it out to our hearing bitcoin casinos aside from the the advantage you pointed out, there are still many more which is not limited to having to play anonymously and even cheaper compared to land casinos. With bitcoin, I can even play with 0.01btc which is equivalent to about $60+ but land casinos, that might not get me a ticket to enter not to talk of a seat at the table.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Losing faith in BTC... on: November 13, 2017, 03:58:10 PM
Anyone who is losing faith at this time, never had any faith to begin with because its just too early the price of bitcoin suffered a crash just some days back and there have been some recovery too so if you now decide because of the little gain another alt coin is witnessing then we really don't need you in bitcoin and you are better in that alt coin but come to think of it because of the general phenomenon of volatility, anyone dumping bitcoin now will be coming back because of that alt he is rushing to, will so face the same fate.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: myetherwallet is safe or not? on: November 13, 2017, 03:14:00 PM
Mew is safe, no one get access to your account except you are careless about your private keys or keystore

No matter the wallet, the moment you are compromised, there is nothing the wallet provider can do. When its now becoming embarrassing due to the number of people involved then they can now act on it on whether its their own system that has been compromised.

MyEtherWallet.com is one of the safest ETH site I know and its because of its flexibility in which everything you need for on the site including the private key is something that is made available without unnecessary stress.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BitcoinCash, will it take over? on: November 13, 2017, 02:17:25 PM
Hi all,

I have read a couple of places that they forse that BCH will take over for BTC and the upcumming fork is just the start for this. The fork will splitt btc yet again and make it slower and more complex.

https://bravenewcoin.com/news/bitcoin-cash-price-analysis-upcoming-fork-tackles-erratic-network/

https://www.yours.org/content/predicting-the-outcome-of-the-november-bitcoin-fork-89914ce0e1f5/?utm_content=bufferf3dec&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer

https://theflippening.github.io/open-letter-to-bitcoin-miners-from-another-miner/

What do you think? Is it any trooth in this? Will BCH take over?

The same news sites signing the new songs of BCH today will be the same sources that will come tomorrow where you will read an article disclosing the true nature of BCH and how its being manipulated by some set of people in the crypto market. With all this, they have nothing to lose because people will still read the news, quote it and their traffic base will increase while those who relies on the news and acted on it, will be counting their losses and thinking about the next line of action on minimising the loss or hoping that something drastic will happen.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SAFEST ALTCOINS TO INVEST IN? on: November 13, 2017, 12:45:23 PM
Safest coin at this time of high uncertainty, its not any where close because what might be the best coin today might turn to scam coin or shitty coin tomorrow. The best is not to invest long term, set your target and guide it jealously except those coin that have been around for a while in which their leaving the space is not likely, then every other coin should be treated same way no matter the amount of hype its currently enoying.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will die? on: November 13, 2017, 12:09:22 PM
Hello,

Looking at graphs from fork.lol (https://fork.lol/pow/hashrate) website, Bitcoin cash hashrate just doubled vs the Bitcoin core. It is currently at over 65% of total hashrate and growing...
This is very concerning because it will be very hard or even impossible to confirm transactions if this keeps going at this rate and more miners will switch to Bitcoin cash.
You might say that there will be 400% difficulty increase in BCH and all miners will switch back, but keep in mind there will be a fork tomorrow to fix just that.

So... I start wondering if this will be the end of bitcoin as we know it?

This is one of those challenges that will pass and at the end, we will realize that its just another way to keep the community busy and have something to talk about. If you are very observant there are always phases of discussion. Before the cancellation/suspension of SegWit's activation, the discussion was centred around SegWit and its effect on bitcoin, advantages and disadvantages but since that has been defeated which makes discussion around it not worthwhile, the next is to have some discussion like this throwing up.
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Truth about the Brazen Bitcoin Cash Scam and the Attack on Bitcoin on: November 13, 2017, 10:55:13 AM
Whether its the truth or not, what I know is that a lot of people will be bitten by this action and funny enough majority will be the newbies coming in while the remaining others are the greedy ones at the end of the day, they will still come back and blame people who were not responsible for their actions in ensuring that they put their money in something whose price was obviously artificial pumping.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you prefer at this time, invest in mining rig or just buy bitcoin? on: November 13, 2017, 07:39:56 AM
As the difficulty in getting bitcoin increases by the day, its getting to the point where the mining of just one bitcoin is becoming impossie for an individual to achieve within a reasonable period of time and that's why its better to just buy because even the equipment that would be needed to get the little now will either become obsolete or diverted to mine other coin agiant from the initial reason why it was bought. The best is just to avoid it all together.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Today's attack on Bitcoin on: November 12, 2017, 07:27:20 PM
Even they attack bitcoin, in my opinion they can not beat the original ones. Bitcoin is a bitcoin! The value is volatile but i have confident that bitcoin is going up not today but maybe tomorrow. Bitcoin cash is new coin let's see if it lasts.

You are grossly misinformed. The original BTC did not feature anything like segwit. BTC cash has remained this original format of the blockchain. Segwit is what is new. It's just a couple of months old, and has nothing to do with the original BTC.

There is no way one will not be misinformed with the amount of conflicting information you read here on a daily basis even the little you hold on to can turn to a myth in your very own eyes within a short period of time. I think the definition of the real BTC is on the basis of allegiance and nothing else the same way Op is claiming that there is original BTC and you trying to say he is misinformed so also those whose allegiance is for BTG will also claim.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin gold lunch today on: November 12, 2017, 03:52:52 PM
Hi,

I read about Bitcoin gold today:https://www.interactivecrypto.com/launch-bitcoin-gold-today/ it's will affect the bitcoin price? or just another coin?

it's can be the new bitcoincash? some reason to buy? and if yes were?

In a little more than 3 hours, bitcoin gold will launch and I think that is something that have been responsible for the pickup in the price of bitcoin and retraction in the price of BCH because I feel BTG is the latest bride that effort will be directed towards. To the core supporters, its nothing other than another of those coins but to the promoters, they believe its the real bitcion. The decision is now left for you as an individual to choose which party you want to go with.
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are my sending fees so high? on: November 12, 2017, 11:17:19 AM
summary of what happened:
- August 1st BCH was created to attack bitcoin, they implemented EDA or difficulty manipulation
- SegWit2x was suspended
- BCH pumpers used this to FUD bitcoin and pump BCH
- higher price of BCH + lower manipulated difficulty => incentive for miners to switch
- sudden lower hashrate on bitcoin + no difficulty manipulation => temporary harder to find blocks
- lower number of blocks found => bigger mempool => higher fees.

all will be fine soon
- difficulty adjustments will start + the BCH pump will end => incentive to mine BCH is removed

With all these, everything is still ephemeral because sooner or later, people will come back to the origin and realize that there is no other way. In the case of BCH, a lot of innocents will have to bear the brunt because they will not be notified when the party will be over while they will be thinking the party is just starting but they are actually leaving the party for the remnants to be taken care of by the excessive greedy individuals.
19  Economy / Speculation / Re: Am I late ? on: November 11, 2017, 01:06:48 PM
I decide to buy 2 bitcoins with in this week.. Its valuable ? Am I late ? Waiting for your replies ?

You will only be late if you decides to be late by letting factors that does not affect anything decides your status for you. If you have decided to buy, then go for it but be sure not to do it with high expectations that by next week, the investment would have doubled it really does not work like that. Also, be sure that you are not in constant check of what the price will say because this is known to be responsible for the creation of panics which might led to rash decision making.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are alts dumping so hard now ? Advice please on: November 11, 2017, 10:51:13 AM
Same problem. All those coins you mentioned , I am not going to sell , they are all under value at the moment. It 's even a good time for buying more

Good for you, if you think that is the best decision to make at this time whatever happen afterwards, is surely for you to bear. Every situation is the creation of chance when others are clamouring about how bad the situation of alt coin is at the moment, you are seeing it as an avenue to even buy more. Whether its a good decision or a bad one, we all have to wait  till the time you decide to sell it.
