1  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Is Electrum auto-update ok? I think it isn't on: September 14, 2020, 03:05:53 PM
I guess you're right, it's in the bottom right, at the left of the lock icon.

I just talked with the scammed guy (it was several weeks ago), the modus operandi was the same (I am not saying my case is a scam, I will never download from anywhere outside the official site), this guy was lead to a different site and after the "update" his satoshis were gone. Also to note here at that time there were not even an official update.
2  Bitcoin / Electrum / Is Electrum auto-update ok? on: September 14, 2020, 02:24:44 PM
Hello,

I've been using electrum for a while and this is the first time I see something like the picture attached. I don't know if that's normal or just fishing. Just in case I would like to report it here because a guy was scammed with the same strategy.

3  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Made a little fun game with cryptocurrencies - Crypto Catch on: December 07, 2018, 08:43:17 PM
I tried your game and it ran smoothly. I like it. I reached level 6 score 27, at that point the coin and my cursor felt like repelent magnets Smiley.
In my opinion you gotta add more tweenings.
I don't know if the landscape is always the same. The one for me was a river in the forest and a car, so maybe you should add:
  • car's light flashing
  • shooting stars
  • dark shadows in the forest
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What comes after Bitcoin? on: November 23, 2018, 03:15:38 PM
I do think the poor countries in the world will also be affected. Satellites will soon make internet access a global "right

So poor people will have access to the world wide web, they will have the right to be online. It's not a bad idea but ... can you imagine a post on facebook saying:
Quote
"What's up people!! Here we are me and my bodies starving day after day. Click like and you'll feed us!"

Before making internet "a global right" there are major problems that must be solved.
5  Economy / Economics / Re: What can be done to make bitcoin stable? on: November 21, 2018, 02:38:39 PM
I am relatively new with regard to bitcoin but what I have noticed is that a lot of people just invest on it and then cash in when they feel like it is already enough to make a profit. I do not think that this will not be great in the long run because of it being unstable. So what can be done to make it stable?

Why everybody is taking bitcoin as a digital asset? Isn't it better to use it as a currency?

Bitcoin's price is based on the market, to make a profit of it buying and selling bitcoins while changes on the market occur. But, if we use cryptocurrencies as we use other currencies -ie usd, eur, etc.- the value must be taken related to other things like GDP, so it would stable, right?

6  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The Beginner Guide to BitCoinTalk on: November 15, 2018, 03:34:35 PM
There are a lot of guides

I think most newbies can't even find them or don't try to find them

Would it be a good idea to pass a test before being able to create a thread or a post for newcomers?  Huh
7  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Cryptocurrencies is protection from the third world war on: November 12, 2018, 02:38:03 PM
Due to the nuclear weapon, the third world war is impossible. If it starts, all will die. Politicians understand this, therefore, no one wants it and will not allow this.

This sounds reasonable but we all know human race is umpredictable so .... but I do agree with this

The third world war is economic and media war and it is going right now.

I think crypto-currency is protection from market failures if a third world war were to happen. To be honest, I'd feel safer having my money in BTC than any financial market if a world war were to become a reality.

If a third world war really happen I think even the whole infrastructure behind the WWW will crash along with the market so now your crypto-savings will worth nothing.

In my opinion I'll be more worried about other problems that are already happening, there are uncountable ones:
  • Global warming
  • Starvation
  • Pooverty
  • Etc

I guess everything was said, thks to all, now i will block the thread to avoid spammers doing their job Grin
10  Economy / Economics / Re: If bitcoin wasn´t affordable to maintain? on: April 05, 2018, 03:22:14 PM
(...) why do you think that miners have to suffer losses so that you can make transactions (...)

I certainly don't think so.

If the price of bitcoin fell to the level of the cost of electricity, you can rest assured that mining will stop.

Is that so? At the beginning when 1 BTC's price was as low as $0.003 there was people who believed in the project even if they had to take some money out of their own pockets.
11  Economy / Economics / If bitcoin wasn´t affordable to maintain? on: April 05, 2018, 02:44:51 PM
Will miners still doing their job if bitcoin´s price goes down to a point where maintaining the network wasn´t affordable as a business?
Would you like bitcoin if its price returns to 1 BTC = $1?
12  Local / Esquina Libre / Re: NUEVA MODA: La Tierra es plana on: January 27, 2018, 12:50:12 AM

14  Local / Español (Spanish) / Méritos y nuevos requisitos de rangos on: January 26, 2018, 11:26:13 PM

Enlace original: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2818350.0

15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: Some good bounty campaigns for newbies on: January 07, 2018, 05:39:52 PM
I just have a small doubt. When we promote to junior member and join some bounty, there is a requirement of minimum posts. What does that mean? Do we need to post about their ICO or we can post anything helpful?

i was about to post this kind of thread to know more about bounty campaign.

good thing someone did and i have learned few lessons about bounty campaign.

maybe someone can explain more about this bounty campaign thing since its hard for me to acquire bitcoin ?

really appreciate  Grin Smiley Smiley

You should read this Campaign Ettiquette thread to understand better this topic.

(...) I am also a newbie. are also looking to understand this issue. how can i become a member

Read first this and this thread to know more about the activity thing.

Then, to sum up, how to become a member or more accurate how to increase your rank: just by posting and spending time here in the forum.

Please, I know that the very called post quality is a fuzzy thing here but try to do your best when posting to improve the quality of the forum, and if you're in a sig campaign you should also be aware of this.
16  Economy / Services / Re: Native spanish speaker looking for jobs! on: January 06, 2018, 02:46:03 AM
From the rules thread :
13. Bumps, "updates" are limited to once per 24 hours.
21. Old bumps should be deleted.

It's a good practice to follow.

17  Other / Meta / Re: Question about forum finances (again, 2017) on: December 29, 2017, 04:46:18 AM
I just have two simple questions to ask: Why would i be interested about forum finances? What's in there for me/us?
Sorry if it's obvious.
18  Other / Meta / Re: possible to see my own posts ? on: December 29, 2017, 04:35:58 AM
the questions in this subforum are getting more and more ridiculous...
Undecided
In my opinion this post belongs to the newbie section .

Somebody should lock this topic.
19  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: why newbies are not acceptable in a campaign? on: December 26, 2017, 09:49:08 PM
Hello guys, happy to be here. Could you give me your knowledge about the reason why newbie like me is not allow in the campaign.

My contribution here is to say that newbies aren't allowed to participate in signature campaigns because some the above explanation, but you can still participate in the media campaign, traslations, etc, of the ICO if that's the case.
20  Other / Meta / Re: Idea to fight scam icos on: December 26, 2017, 09:19:00 PM
Requesting for deletion can cause a workload to our moderators and admins. Yes, many ICO's are SCAM but I'm not generalizing, for me in order to decrease the SCAM potential of an ICO this forum must implement a fee before the developer can INTRODUCE their ICO thread in the forum, that can reduce the percentage of a SCAM coin and we can easily know that they are serious of their TOKEN.

Implementing a fee will yield more elaborated SCAM ICOs, so now because the fee more users will trust in the scammer and will come more profits to him. I think it won't reduce the problem.
