261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you still support Ethereum? on: July 14, 2018, 01:38:12 PM
Yes! I still like ETH coin, at the moment i thinks is good and more. thanks
ETH is not only a coin, it's the whole network. So ETH has enormous potential that even half of it has been used up. This is the future.
262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Invest in Ethereum on: July 14, 2018, 01:34:58 PM
Hello.

do you think it's a good time to invest in Ethereum?
Now is a good time to buy. The price below 500 $ is a good time for investitions. And the price will fall to 350 $ ...
263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: You can go wrong! on: July 14, 2018, 12:07:15 PM
If we learn from our mistakes, what words of caution would you like to share.
Do not trust online wallets or applications. It's dangerous. Do not save passwords or private keys on your computer. Only a paper wallet.
264  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How safe is Bitcoin? ✅ on: July 13, 2018, 06:19:38 PM
Bitcoin is well known for its safety. The biggest dangers are mainly hacker attacks on third party services, through which one accesses his bitcoins. These are above all the various crypto exchanges on which the users have created accounts or the bitcoins stored locally in wallets.

Basically, either the exchange itself is directly attacked, so that data can be stolen there. The biggest known incident was the hacker attack on Mt.Gox about 4 years ago, when a huge hack of Bitcoins was looted. This was also the reason for the decrease of Bitcoins 2014.

Today, the exchanges have improved to prevent such occurrences, because it can come to hacks and the trade is severely restricted or even stopped completely. This often leads to strong price fluctuations, mainly caused by so-called panic sells.

An equally large attack surface offer individual mistakes that can easily be prevented. Individual mistakes are the responsibility of individual users and are often:
- insufficiently secured user accounts due to weak passwords
- Login on a phishing site
- send the private keys to a scammer

If a stranger has once gained access to your own accounts, he can quickly transfer the entire balance to another wallet and due to the anonymity, it is no longer clearly comprehensible. For such a kind of total loss helps therefore only a careful handling with your personal user data.

But as long as you follow to the usual security rules and pay attention to secure passwords, which you should also change from time to time and do not use the same password on many other pages, an accident normally cannot happen.
The high demand and high competition between exchanges has also contributed to the improvement of safety standards.

How make you sure to safe your Bitcoins?

All you need to do is use the offline wallet. I recommend TREZOR I do not know better protection bitcoin and ETH ...
265  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin or Property? What might be the best investment? on: July 13, 2018, 05:58:28 PM
We had a very interesting discussion over the weekend and people debated if it was better to invest in property or to invest in Bitcoin. The argument was as follows :

1. Most people cannot afford to buy property, so they take a home loan at a Bank. The home loan is paid back with interest and some of these loans are spread out over 20 years to make it affordable to the person who takes out the loan. So, over that 20 years the house of $100 000 will cost you say $1 000 000. {$900 000 paid in interest}

The argument is also that the property has to increase in value, with more than $900 000 for you to say that it was a good investment AND you have to sell that property to get that profit.

2. The other side of the room said it was better to rent a smaller property and to invest the "savings" into something like Bitcoin, because your profit will pay for a bigger deposit or even a whole property in a few years time.

I think paying a high interest rate to a Bank is just as bad as paying rent to a Landlord, because you are getting screwed in both these circumstances.  Angry

We all want to live in big houses that we cannot afford.  Roll Eyes
I know it well. Bitcoin gives hope that the loan will be blocked if there is not enough investment. Now is a good time to buy.
266  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Schools Are Officially Accepting Bitcoin for Tuition on: July 13, 2018, 02:47:39 PM
Universities are embracing accepting bitcoin for tuition, with Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Switzerland the latest school to adopt. If anything, it's another clear sign the cryptocurrency is here to stay.

https://futurism.com/schools-accepting-bitcoin-tuition/

Even so... Bitcoin has been used to buy homes, and countries like Venezuela and Vietnam are beginning to truly embrace the currency. Now, certain universities are adopting the payment method of bitcoin for tuition, albeit with a few caveats.
Does anyone want or not BTC begins to mean more and more in the world. It's just a matter of time when it will be able to buy bread for BTC.
267  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can blockchain ever be environmentally friendly on: July 13, 2018, 02:46:10 PM
"I’m sure most of you have seen the news about Bitcoin’s energy consumption. For instance, in Iceland, more energy is used to mine Bitcoin than to power people’s homes and per day the global Bitcoin network now consumes more energy than Ireland. Hence, we chose to build on the Stellar network as it is the most environmentally friendly blockchain available. For comparison, a transaction on the Stellar network only uses 0.03 Wh whereas VISA uses 1.69 Wh per transaction. Clearly, the Stellar blockchain is the perfect technology partner for our platform."

In fact, it is enough to use green energy from wind or water to extract BTC. It is definitely cheaper and less harmful.
268  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin value on: July 13, 2018, 02:44:05 PM
I've just watched the John Oliver show about cryptocurrencies and something struck me about what he said:

" like most currencies, the fundamental reason that bitcoin has value is that people agree that it has value"

I just want to know your thoughts on this. I only have a little understanding about the idea of currency and its value although i've already been at it all my life. Im new into this kind currency and right now its plumetting.
It is natural for them to have more demand for a commodity, usually its price will go up over time. Especially as its limited amount. It's the same with BTC.

269  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which one do you choose? on: July 13, 2018, 02:25:51 PM
Many of us use bitcoin only in exchange/trading site, while bitcoin should be more used in marketplace/online shop. Which one do you choose? Do you prefer to use bitcoin on a trading site or marketplace/online shop? And why do you chose that?
Total of none of what you wrote. I'm going to exchange BTC for a toy Smiley. I do not have to think what I buy Smiley.
270  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Wrong Btc address on: July 13, 2018, 02:22:44 PM
Is there any chance of me getting back my Btc from an address which I was not supposed to send or even a chance of getting in contact with the receiver ?
I always send a small cow before the transaction and check if it will take place. This life has taught me. I recommend this method for the future. Do you get your BTC? Unlikely.

272  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin mining is costly... on: July 12, 2018, 08:34:00 PM
For the average person, bitcoin mining is virtually impossible. Now there is a need for a farm with its own power supply, for example green energy ...
273  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New to Bitcoin. Should I mine or buy coin with my $6000 on: July 12, 2018, 08:29:46 PM
Hi Everyone,

I'm new to cryptocurrencies and would like to know your opinion on what best to do with my $6000.

I was initially planning on purchasing a GPU mining rig with gtx 1070s but then upon further research found that 1070s can only do 600-700 sol/s

Then I found the asicminer equihash which can do 40,000 sol/s and costs $14,800 which will be released on July along with new nvidia generation cards.

I know its a bit late now to start but I am really thinking hard on this but I need opinions from veteran guys.

tl:dr;

1. Should I buy bitcoin with my $6000 or
2. Use it to buy a 1070 GPU mining rig or
3. Wait until July for new nvidia graphics card to come out (or the asicminer equihash).

Thanks so much for all your feedback.

*Edit: Would like to inform everyone that electricity costs would not be a problem as I have a way to manage it. Considering that electricity cost is not an issue, is mining going to be profitable for me right away?
If you wait a moment, you will buy 1 BTC for 6k $. In 2021, the BTC price increases up to 31k $. You will not lose ...
274  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Banknotes on: July 12, 2018, 08:25:26 PM
As the popularity and value of Bitcoin increases so do its adoption. Recently, about 4,000 new ATMs were introduced in Argentina. A drastic transformation in this sphere is being brought by Tangem that is trying to make the cash like transaction through cryptocurrencies a possibility for the users.

Tagem, a new smart banknote platform is launching the bitcoin banknotes in Singapore, which is known for its blockchain and crypto favorable regulatory measures. The notes will be on sale at the Megafash Suntec City store. The aim is to mass produce the physical notes of bitcoin in millions by the end of 2018.

The path to recognition of Bitcoin as a fully-fledged currency by the governments of all countries is still long. The more so because some of the states simply banned cryptocurrencies. Such a decision was made, among others India, Russia and Bangladesh. Other countries allow their turnover, but they define the role of cryptocurrencies in the economy. This is because governments are torn between wanting to protect the monopoly of their central banks for issuing money and the desire to tax transactions concluded with bitcoins. Faced with this dilemma, they adopt different attitudes that can best be illustrated in a few examples:
- The Australian government considers Bitcoin to be property, such as a property or a car. Therefore, transactions in which goods or services are purchased through cryptocurrencies are treated as barter exchanges and an appropriate tax should be paid.
- In the UK, according to the current guidelines of the Bank of England, Bitcoin is treated as a foreign currency. Its exchange for pounds is not treated as a sale and you do not have to pay VAT on it.
- In turn, the Finnish authorities consider Bitcoin as a form of security. Transactions involving him are subject to the same tax as investments in other financial instruments.
As you can see, the states are very diverse in determining the legal status of cryptocurrencies. Therefore, the answer to the question of whether Bitcoin is money can not be unambiguous if it takes the legal systems of individual countries as a criterion.
275  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Computer virus used to steal cryptos? on: July 12, 2018, 08:21:41 PM
As I have seen from a website about China's nabbing crypto thieves.  So, being a computer genius has a lot of advantages to get rich so easily with cryptocurrencies if they will not be caught.  Unlike us who makes clean living by trading, mining, investing and bounty hunting, they tend to get easy income in their professional thieves way.  Might be this is the reason why bitcoin's value is going down.  Just my thoughts..

Check out the link about this news I have red.

https://sg.news.yahoo.com/china-nabs-crypto-thieves-social-120041067.html
Banks also have burglaries and clean accounts of money. Cryptocurrencies for a hacker are a tasty morsel. Especially since it is not an official currency and thefts are difficult to recover.
276  Economy / Speculation / Re: the worth of bitcoins on: July 12, 2018, 08:10:57 PM
i came across bitcoin yesterday. i read the wikipedia article, the bitcoin faq and whatever else popped up on

google. i was immediatly stoked. i like this idea, and think the bitcoin has a future. reading forum posts about

thoughts on this new concept all pull up the same idea "it wont work because there is nothing backing it". i thought

long and hard about this, and i think i have it figured out.

first, an insight on currency in general. buying with currency, is glorified bartering. we used to like someones

cow, and trade two of our goats for it. to each of us, this was fair, and we each walked away with our new animals.

then the government stepped in and decided they deserved a cut of all transactions "to help pay for improvements to

the area they governed" to bring more people to their area, and make more money. they decided to use precious metals

as a base. it was in limited supply and caled valuable(maybe because it was shiny).

trading stuff for gold was the new "bartering". but people wouldnt wanna carry around a large amount of rock, so a

paper symbol was created to carry around called the dollar bill.

so now, we dont trade our two goats for that cow, we trade a symbol of the gold that the cow is worth. its bartering

with a tax

many people coorelate gold as the base of our currency, but thats very wrong. gold is only the base of the "value"

of the currency. the more money that gets printed, the more all money loses value.

bitcoin is not the currency. bitcoin is the gold. its currency is all currency. this could take us back to the roots

of bartering.  you can trade anything for bits. services, goods, any national currency, or anything else that could

be bought or sold with any bartering catalyst.

but whats keeping the bits in check? itself. they are slowly releasing bitcoins until 2017, at which time, there

will be 21 million bits in existance. thats the cap. no more will be inserted into the bitcoin economy. from then

on, the only fluxuation will be supply and demand. no inflation, no deficit, and no tampering. gold and bits will have the same limits of finite numbers

depending on the public acceptance, a cheeseburger could cost 10 bits or 1000 bits. my dream is for the

bitcoin to be in high enough demand to be the "credits" we see in sci fi movies. unregulated, and international.

ribuck from freedom radio said so much with one sentence:
In a free world, we need to learn how to evaluate the value of something to us, and learn to stop expecting others

to assign (and guarantee) a value to it.

bitcoins has a lot of potential, the way it reaches its potential is to prove to daily vendors that bitcoins will always have a value.
Bitcoin is the future. This is enough. It is sad that so many people do not believe in BTC. We must be patient and believe that this will change.
277  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 3000 Bitcoins ATM worldwide !!!! on: July 12, 2018, 07:40:54 PM
Bitcoins distributors are increasing. Indeed, the symbolic bar of the 3 000 distributors in the world has just been crossed, and there are about six new installations each day. So the situation is changing very quickly.

Honestly I can't understand people who are using ATMs to buy bitcoin or any other altcoin - crypto in general. Most of the time rates are way higher than if you go and register on some exchange and trade directly. Secondly, there is no support on the spot and some ATMs even ask you to provide them with your IDs and they will take the picture even if you are buying only one time and guess what this doesn't sound like the best deal for me. You give them your ID and you overpay for the price for what? If you are going to do KYC better is to follow up and go with trustworthy exchange in my opinion.
Why is it? It is convenient. You do not need to combine, you only withdraw money. Often convenience is more important than commission.

280  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Exchange of tokens - problem on: July 09, 2018, 08:26:51 PM
I have a problem. Maybe you know why this is happening. I use www.myetherwallet.com + MetaMask. I only use myetherwallet to exchange tokens. Today I wanted to deposit a token for the forkdelta market. I did not make it. Is displayed "Sorry, we are unable to locate this Transaction Hash". And that's it. I've tried a dozen times.

Yesterday I had the same with another token with a significantly smaller price. Does anyone know the solution?
I think that your token was locked by smart-contract creator. Especially when you receive bounty tokens they can be locked for a while to prevent price dump - I think.
ETH also does not want to deposit. This is not a question of the token. Can MetaMask block?

The Ethereum network has been clogged up for days and you probably need to set a higher gas.
Nothing ... What gas level do you propose?
