3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A game that educates people about Bitcoin on: February 25, 2020, 05:03:57 AM
I don't think games are a good tool for educating adults about new concepts, they are time-consuming and distracting. You could use them to teach kids, but why would you want to teach kids about Bitcoin in the first place, it's not like they will be using it till they grow up.

Adults play games to relax and have fun, and educational games generally have poor gameplay, so I can't imagine such game being popular.

Too negative. Why do we play games? To relax and have fun, right? It is as what you have said. That's why we are putting something on games, not only for fun, but also for education. Games are very effective when we want people to experience and understand something. Because it requires simulation, cooperation of the player, and in that way, not only they have engaged themselves in the game, they also learned something from bitcoin.

If we will not do something to spread bitcoin, then there will be no way it will be used by many people.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gaming Industry and Cryptocurrency! on: February 21, 2020, 10:55:37 AM

Well, the tandem of crypto currency and gaming industry surely is exciting since there are many gamers in different country. But I think, the bitcoin should not be use for payments only or to buy items and/or peripherals in the game. I think there should be atleast other game wherein they can get bitcoin, maybe the best is the gambling but a pvp type of game.

That is possible too, actually the author mentioned like a battle royale game that you earn bitcoin when you hit other players, and vice versa.

This new platform, gaming, is very useful for spreading bitcoin, and is actually one way we can invite gamers that are nonbitcoin users, surely they will be interested. Not only that, bitcoin could be mainly used as a payment method or the main currency used in online games. Not bad. I am sure gamers will agree to this one.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A question about withdrawing BTC on: February 21, 2020, 10:11:34 AM
Recently I became interested in the feasibility to withdraw btc through the atm. I read a lot of information about this, here, for example, article on changelly.
If you guys have a similar experience, please share it. I'm worried about the anonymity of such a method. And all in all, aren't such things contrary to the idea of cryptocurrency on the whole if you have as much anonymity when working with it as you do with fiat?

An ATM isn't anonymous, unless its in a place where you can use it while disguised/masked. Regardless of the ATM requiring you KYC or not (which can only make things worse) the fact that is a physical thing means it can have surveillance (and should, since vandals love breaking the things apart).

Some people find them convenient, i find them cumbersome (and horribly expensive). Your best chance for "anonymity" is online, perhaps even mining, but that option is rapidly disappearing.

Using ATM in withdrawing bitcoin is a good choice for conveniency, but then, as what he had said above, the anonymity will not really apply to it. Using ATMs requires information verification and authentication, and we all know it is because of the safety for everyone who will withdraw.

As many people are using bitcoin nowadays, there's a high chance that we will all need to verify our identities online to have a secure transaction.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If google has its own crypto currency? on: February 14, 2020, 11:23:16 AM
Google already has its own currency
It is called Google Pay, Google Play Credits...

It is not a cryptocurrency , neither uses blockchain tech or whatever. It is like a PayPal

http://Https://pay.Google.com

Bitcoin has a different proposal

It is not really a currency actually. It is a payment method or something like that. The author is asking what if it will have its own currency like bitcoin.

We all know that Google can do that(having their own cryptocurrency), knowing how famous it is and obviously successful nowadays. So if ever they will have, I am sure that will be a successful one, and I think many users will switch to it.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Happy Bitcoin Valentine's Day! on: February 14, 2020, 11:14:08 AM
Seeing that we are all sharing some of our time with each other every day, I just wanted to say Happy Valentine's Day to all of you. I hope you are going to share the Bitcoin love with loads of people, without sharing to many viruses.  Cheesy

Let's forget about all the problems and fighting for a day and concentrate on the positive thing that brought us together here, namely : Bitcoin.  Wink

I decided to spread the Bitcoin love today and I created some paper wallets with a small amount of coin on it and I am going to distribute this to random people on the street in my city. I am adding a flower for the ladies with the little paper wallet and a link to this site to get more information about Bitcoin.

I hope some of you will do the same today, so that we can spread the Bitcoin love.  Grin  Wish me luck, it is surely going to be a interesting day.

Ps. I am keeping the private keys and if the coins are not moved until the next Valentine's Day, I will take back my gifts.  Grin

That's very kind of you. I did not even think of that idea but it's actually good. In that way, they may search and learn about bitcoin, and because of that bitcoin is again shared to those who do not know it yet.

Have a safe trip, and enjoy your activity for today! Thank you for sharing a new way for spreading bitcoin this day. Let's share some love and kindness today. Smiley
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if a significant inflation happen worldwide? on: February 14, 2020, 10:51:20 AM
The chance is very low to happen a significant inflation unless world war III or worldwide epidemic disease occur. Let's assume any of this happened. Will people likely to switch their fiat currency into bitcoin?
If that's what happened and people attempt to switch their fiat into bitcoin, there will be a chance of fiat currency become nothing of value.
PS- I don't want world war or epidemic disease at all. i am just thinking at what point bitcoin will take over the fiat currency system.

It will take a very long time before bitcoin will take over fiat currencies, since we have been using fiat ever since. Even if there would be a large inflation worldwide, we cannot expect that people will immediately switch to bitcoin that will be used for canned transactions.

We will come to that time where we will use for our everyday lives, but it is not today.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CHINA NEED PRAYERS AND NOT BITCOIN on: February 12, 2020, 02:51:19 PM
Since some people start to talk about Donate China over Corona Virus, while the fact is that China is the Second Rich Country in the world for that they just Need Prayers to overcome Coronavirus outbreak and treat well people I think in terms of the money they can Afford

May God help china

Well, instead of us expecting China to heal and help themselves in the infection they had, we should be helping instead. It doesn't mean if they are rich, they don't need a helping hand from anyone anymore. Prayers are good, especially if we cannot reach out to them, but also, they do need medical assistance and support from us.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A clue on how to make them see that bitcoin isn't a scam on: February 12, 2020, 02:10:09 PM
I did some analysis and have come to understand that majority of us are afraid to tell people about bitcoin because people see it as a scam and maybe, it could implicate us. But then, I think I know a good way you can convince them that bitcoin isn't scam.

You could simply bring out a dollar (or any fiat you have in your pocket) then ask him/her what that is. For sure, 'money' will be the answer. Then ask him this simple question; "if someone happens to scam you and take all your dollars, does it mean that dollar is a scam?"
Or, you could rephrase the last line to; "does it mean that dollar was made for scamming people?"

Try to be very polite when asking such questions. Try to make them understand that everything that has a use has a misuse too. Be descriptive!
They need to understand that bitcoin is simply a currency like Dollar, Euro, Cedis, etc. (except for the fact it is a digital currency).

I believe that was helpful.

Thank you for that helpful suggestion. Well, it made me realize that by using those questions, we can simply convince people that bitcoin is not a scam. Also, in order for us to answer their confusions and inquiries about bitcoin, we should fully understand how the general concept is so that we can explain it to them clearly.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Invest Crypto on: February 12, 2020, 01:57:59 PM
I am really thinking about investing over $15000 of my savings into Bitcoin. Would this be wise? Is BTC safe and stable at this point and this time?

Take it easy. It doesn't mean that the value of price today is high, it will be like that forever. That is a very high risk you are taking, and before anything else, you should read and read more about bitcoin and cryptocurrency before doing anything else. You'll end up regretting your decisions. It is better now for you to be familiarized in the concept, and deeply think about it, if you are going to be ready for investing your money on bitcoin.
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would a Crypto Based Economy Make Things Safer? on: February 12, 2020, 01:27:04 PM
As the state of economy does at times really influence levels of crime and social aspects in any community.

Right now under the fiat system there is a major and growing sides of rich and poor.
With many times people who are "without" getting into trouble. Such as committing crimes. Getting into substance abuse etc.

If society or at least communities are able to become more independent and based their markets all on crypto. In which they follow the principles of crypto? as in prevent inflation and create an equal or at least more fair financial market. If that was the case/

Would this create a more safer community? would this cause people not to resort to crime? substance abuse? etc?

Your thoughts why or why not?

We cannot conclude and say that bitcoin and system of cryptocurrencies will lessen crimes and this will change the world. Well, it may change the world but not that way. If we look deeper, we should see that the root cause why there are crimes is the behavior and attitude of people who commit those. A criminal will always find its way to deceive and have its victims, whatever their platform is. Bitcoin is only a mere currency, but we can't depend our lives to it.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why not we donate some Bitcoin for corona virus? on: February 12, 2020, 05:40:37 AM
This is such a risky move, because you still need to prove that you will not scam those who also wanted to help. There are a lot of processes to take if you want to encourage others to help people who are infected with Corona Virus. It is very good to help those people who are in need, but then you need to consider a lot of factors so that you won't end up giving problems to others.
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoins Regularization in Different Countries on: February 12, 2020, 12:33:34 AM
We should start the campaign in favour Of Bitcoin.
The bitcoin campaign started many years ago and it's still ongoing to this day. I think there is still a long way to go before governments can get their shit together and allow bitcoin to co-exist with their paper money. What could possibly happen is that people may be forced to give up their privacy due to laws that will require establishments to enforce some kind of identity verification before accepting bitcoin payments. An example is asking for an ID before giving receipts or something similar.

It will be a long way before bitcoin will be accepted and regularized in different countries, as what you have said, there will be a lot of information verification that will lessen the privacy of one consumer, and we cannot say that everyone wants that. Besides, bitcoin is still on developing stage where we invite people who are interested in it. Everyone is used to have transactions and exchanges in fiat currencies, so it will not be easy having a brand new currency that will be used in our daily lives.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Transactions on Smartwatches? on: February 11, 2020, 08:40:13 AM
I've seen many Android-powered smartwatches out there with capabilities to run apps in the same way (almost) as an ordinary smartphone would. On the other hand, we have the Apple Watch which runs its variant of the iOS system. Imagine being able to install a lightweight wallet like Electrum on a smartwatch to send/receive Bitcoin transactions. After all, most of these (if not all) smartwatches have Wi-Fi capabilities, Bluetooth, and more. By integrating Bitcoin wallets into smartwatches, you can truly send/receive transactions anywhere with ease. I'm sure not if this is possible yet (as I don't own a smartwatch). But if a developer decides to create Bitcoin wallets for smartwatches, I'll be a big hit within the mainstream world.

What are your thoughts? Is something like this practical/secure? Or is it better to continue using smartphones for Bitcoin transactions? Huh

This can be possible, as we can see many of the devices nowadays have many features for the convenience of the users. If bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies will be used as a usual method of payments, there will be high chances that it can be launched in smartwatches. With the technology we have nowadays, it is not impossible to create that feature in the near future.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What has bitcoin done for you? on: February 11, 2020, 08:26:12 AM
I love the Bitcoin community and consider you guys/girls family! <3

That's what I really want in bitcoin, because this new system is very welcoming to newbies, and there will be a lot of users that will help you understand and will guide in your journey in cryptoworld.

My friends introduced me to bitcoin and they are still helping me to make me understand some things that are not clear with me. This has helped me discover new things and because of that, I am open to changes and new information the world has.
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NOTHING IS ABOVE BITCOIN on: February 11, 2020, 07:40:10 AM
Adam Back, CEO of Blockstream and HashCash, has said: "Nothing is above Bitcoin, no Central Bank Digital Currency, no stable coins."

He continued that: "I think that blockchains are more about permissionless, uncensorable usage and free market money. I think while it is possible and useful for some use cases, like crypto trading, to have stable coins, they inherently fall short of Bitcoin as they have custody risk, and if there is a central bank underwriting also traditional establishment interests reflected in the operation which may look unattractive to users."

Source: https://cointelegraph.com/news/exclusive-nothing-is-above-bitcoin-no-cbdc-no-stablecoins-says-blockstream-ceo-adam-back

I agree with the statement of the CEO, and I believe that what makes it (bitcoin) powerful is that no one is above it who really controls the flow of the system. There are a lot of benefits in using bitcoin, not mentioning that it can be used by anyone, anywhere in the world. The con that I can only think of is when people use it to illegal transactions, and so there is a bad image of bitcoin to those who are not familiar of it.
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can save some people's lives :-> on: February 11, 2020, 07:28:22 AM
I watched a Youtube video last night about the food merchants in some of the markets in Wuhan <China> and I noticed that most of them are using electronic payment methods to pay for goods. < Wechat Pay >

Ok, it is not Bitcoin, but if more merchants using Fiat currency can switch over to Bitcoin, you might see less infections. The reason for this is simple, because the Corona virus can be transmitted from person to person via cash being used on a daily basis.

People can also do online payments with Bitcoin to avoid handling physical cash and thus avoiding infection. It can also prevent people from being infected from a host of other viruses and bacteria that can survive for days on physical coins and notes.

This is just one more reason for people to move away from physical payment methods and shifting to a cash-less financial system in the future.  Wink

Well, you have a point, since nowadays corona virus is scattered all around the world, and it is still present in countries affected. This is one of the ways to avoid infection. Aside from this, there are also a lot of benefits if we use cashless payments especially today, since people want to have an instant transaction, without any traffic.

About the virus, we still should be safe by having a proper hygiene because it is still the best way to avoid it. Since the virus is not air borne, so we should not worry about it and let us keep ourselves clean every time.
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin really still decentralized?? on: February 11, 2020, 05:59:39 AM
Miners own mining, they don't own Bitcoin's protocol or Bitcoin network or Bitcoin community. Miners don't influence the price in any special way, and there's also no solid proof that anyone successfully manipulates the price on a large scale, it's just rumors of frustrated traders who lose their money doing bad trades.

Bitcoin is still the most decentralized cryptocurrency, because it has the biggest network and community and the most decentralized development with hundreds of contributors.

One of the main reasons why bitcoin and crypto users have stopped using it is because of misinformation and misinterpretation of what's happening inside the cryptoworld. If we read more articles about it, we will be more knowledgeable and there will be no more confusions regarding this topic.

To clear things out, bitcoin is decentralized and there is no way that those miners will have control of it.
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is better than your bank! on: February 11, 2020, 02:30:07 AM
Bitcoin is known since it is the first crypto currency, the problem though is that it is popular for us but for them, it is not. With the scam all over our country relating to crypto currencies, bitcoin and other cryptos are labeled as a scam by these people that has no idea of what they are talking about. With the creation of bitcoin, a lot of people have their freedom and that is the reason why some take advantage of it. Even with the legalization of crypto currencies in our country, using it is still limited and we have no other choice but to use an exchange to be able to transact it. We are still not paying directly bitcoin since these exchanges convert that into fiat.

This is actually true, for now, we really can't avoid not-so-good things that are happening in the cryptoworld, so a lot of people who don't use cryptocurrencies conclude that cryptos are scam. In order for them to understand how it really goes, we should explain to them, like the author of this thread, and share this to your friends and relatives so that they may accept cryptocurrency.
