For me, especially after reading works on virtual reality such as Infinite Reality: Avatars, Eternal Life (2011) by Bailenson, J., & Blascovich, J. (2011), I believe it will be technology that will help support the survival of humanity.

Environmental issues coupled with humanity's flaws certainly make us question the viability of living in a physical world.

Yes, it is true that there are a lot talks and studies going on about the future with humans transitioning to a virtual world. The technology is possible, it simple needs time to fully implement it. Awesome, right?

CNBC’s report praises the Oculus Go –our $200 ticket to virtual reality, courtesy of Facebook. According to the article, despite the short battery life, the reasonably priced headset is a fun gadget to own. It’s packed with apps, games and HD movies (which the author describes as being transported to a huge empty movie theater with a massive screen).
Facebook is indeed, helping virtual reality go mainstream, proving how the revolutionary technology can be viable tool for supporting art, science and entertainment.
With a gadget that is both fun and functional, how can we not explore this virtual world?

I remember seeing a post on Slashdot describing how Nectome’s cofounder, Robert McIntyr is pitching a start-up that will use technology for preserving brains in microscopic detail using a high-tech embalming process particularly, future scientists will be scanning the brain and turning it into a computer simulation. In other words, one gets to be an immortal in a data server somewhere.
This attracts more attention to the much talked about possibility of designing a virtual space where our digital selves can live forever.
In world flawed by corruption, sickness and violence, one can’t help but consider living a better life in a virtual space.

Yes, definitely. Blockchain technology can be used in several other applications. I believe it has already started to be used for Instant Messaging apps and more and more companies and institutions are exploring the concept to improve their services.

They're just trying to slow down the inevitable. As such, there are countless articles that cast negativity on Bitcoin, but fail to make any strong arguments. These articles are propaganda at best, IMO.

I am all for using bitcoin for philanthropic purposes. It’s nice to put a positive and humanitarian aspect to the technology.

I don't think they'll "win" over bitcoin. They'll simply, IMO, have some level of control. Because it is absolutely certain that the government will compete in this progressively globalized cyber age through the use of cryptocurrencies.

Oh, it would be great to have a bitcoin payment option for playstore and appstore. I think It will take a while for that to happen though. A certain level of regulation should be employed in order for both merchant and consumer to feel more secure about the transactions.

Most institutions now are seeing the potential of blockchain tech. I won't be surprised if they use it to their own advantage. I mean, if you can't beat them, join them, right?

There are lots of crypto-related job boards available online. A quick engine search will lead you to job opportunities.

The lack of control they have over the currency is a threat to their infrastructure. Potential manipulation and fraudulent transactions are what they are trying to avoid.

Bitcoin is much more than just a store of value. Someone in the web described it as "a philosophical middle finger to the idea of money as it currently exists, to every government issuing fiat, and to every financial institution making money out of your money." How can anyone joke about something that is making its mark in reality?

Today’s trading mania is just a prelude to an even bigger, more transformational era of cryptocurrency. So nope, I don't think Bitcoin has reached its full potential yet.

The death of bitcoin has been predicted countless times over the past several years. And yet it keeps rising again and again, showing strength. And besides, consumer is king. It is the consumer who will continue to keep bitcoin thriving.

I agree it’s Switzerland. They are embracing the cryptocurrency culture and has been dubbed as a “crypto-nation,” right? Switzerland also emerged as an ICO hub because it has lots of rich investors and tech specialists.

Always use unique emails and passwords, keep offline records and don't discuss it EVER on your social media accounts.

We'll never know if bitcoin will remain the most popular coin in the next few years. One thing's for sure: cryptocurrency will definitely increase power and influence in the near future.
