Instant transfers seem risky to me. Anyone could forge a transaction and your chain would accept without any confirmations. The idea of getting confirmations is to make the network security stronger. You can set confirmations to around 4 and still be pretty safe with a quick turnaround.
But if there are no miners in network,and it is fully 100% premined coins? |

Let's say I'd like to create a closed-source windows app, which can also work with wallet. But of course, there's an issue of trust, since nobody can be sure there isn't a code inside which would steal the money after the wallet is decrypted. Is there some way to ensure that the application can't do that?

I'm still a little confused. I don't have any plans to release a coin (there are too many as is) but my programming mind is trying to grasp this.
1 ) Joe and John both download the source code for Doge. They compile it as is, no changes... would it run on the existing Doge network? Say that they added the same nodes as Doge uses.
2) Joe changes some code so that the block reward is twice what it ought to be, compiles it, and uses the same Doge nodes for his wallet. Should he mine, what would happen?
I guess what I'm not seeing is, with open source code available and so many clone coins, is what is to stop someone from changing code and using it with the same nodes. Somewhere in the code there must be some checksum or confirm that everything is the same?

What identifies the unique block chains once I go in and modify code on my end? If I set my code to generate 2x as many coins upon finding a block surely it would be seen as incorrect code.
Again what actually makes the chain unique. If Joe and John both compiled the same coin code, would each be its own coin or would 2 coins exist?

I'm offering a small bounty - I'm not sure how much yet, perhaps 0.5 - 1 BTC - for an Android app widget that displays the following info:
* The current blockchain height
* Minute count since last block
* Total outstanding BTC mined (current formula is easy: 210,000*50 + (nHeight-210,000)*25)
It should look pretty and be open source / public domain. There are plenty of app widgets that show btc/usd price, but I'm more interested in seeing some real time stats about the network at a glance.
Is anyone interested in taking the offer?

this should be in the help section. "And how i start it like a server?" bitcoind stands for bitcoin-daemon. there is no server concept in bitcoin. bitcoin is P2P.
