Miner settings are standart - 2 threads with 2016 and 1800 intensity.
Vega 56 crashes with 1800 on the second thread. That might explain the hash difference. Currently doing 1850 H/s with 2016+1600 threads. I tried 1850 intensity for the second thread, got 2000+ hashrate but soon crashed. 2016+1800 seems stable so far Is it worth investing in Vega for mining purposes, or should one just stick with AMD RX 580 series. It depends how much you believe in Monero. Best card to mine XMR seems to be Vega 56, with 1850 H/s @ 150W for only 399$ (good luck on that price). Assuming 399 and ignoring power bill, at current monero price each Vega 56 reaches its ROI in 4 months. A Vega64 (499$) with rednoW's secret improvements, reaches ROI in 5 months, and each next month does $8.41 over Vega 56. After those 5 months, it will take 11 months (100$ / 8.41$) to have Vega 64 netting more income than the Vega 56. Now... will XMR continue to rise or fall? Some point it as the coin that BTC always wanted to be, and in the Deep Web XMR seems to be more used than BTC. Ignoring the future of XMR, Vega 56 + XMR is today one of the best GPU/Coin pairs, if not the best, to reach ROI. I'm new on mining, so feel free to correct me if I'm making no sense somewhere. For short term vega 56 is good but in long term vega 64 is best for me I see on many forums vega 56 have problem with chip

I wonder which is more profitable, 2x GTX 1060 6GB or 1 Vega 56?
I France there is a discount code on RX Vega 56 -> 405€ I bought them this price. And without too much time to play with I get 37 MH/s on ETH (43 on EXP with smaller DAG) for 150W at wall (something like 140W for GPU after PSU efficiency) pls send url and whats discount you use? I got mine on LDLC : https://www.ldlc.com/landing-AR201708160001-AR201708230010.html405€ with VEGA56 code shop.hardware.fr was doing an equivalent discount but do not display it (RXVEGA for Vega 64 and RXVEGA56 for Vega 56) --> https://imgur.com/a/qkDhqbut right now a lot of card are out of stock limited to 1 coupon per account, but I manage to get 4 VEGA56 (405) + 1 VEGA64 (509€) to update a rig Thanks a Lot Vega 64 to 619 eur - best price

I updated my rig now. Swapped 4 Vega 64 with 4 Vega 56. Running with Amd Driver 17.9.1 Vega 56 flashed with 64 bios Samsung memory on my cards Mining Musicoin (Ethash) Claymore config general settings: -tt 64 -ttdcr 75 -cclock 1000 -cvddc 900 -mclock 1025 -mvddc 900
Getting steady 41,3 MH/s per card. 130 watts per GPU at the wall. Mobo, CPU, etc already accounted for. With dual mining it drops to 38 MH/s per card and fairly low stats for the other coin, so I'm skipping dual mining for flashed Vega 56. I'm using the excess heat from my mining rigs to heat up my appartment, so in my case there isn't much cost involved with electricity during cold seasons I have two Vega 64 cards now, same settings same everything. One is capable of 1250 H/s on Monero, the second one can go to 1580 H/s o.O
Would you mind sharing your settings? After a reboot, I am not able to reproduce the 1580 H/s score Both cards run between 1250 and 1280 H/s. Just standard Wattman settings, core as low as possible, mem to 1100, temp limit 71℃, -5% power. However, this is not enough to reduce the power draw at the wall. We need to give rednoW some motivation to share his guide with us. A kiss won't be enough I assume. To get back 1600h/s xmr stop your miner, go to radeon settins, gaming and move HBCC slider slightly, then hit apply. Then run you miner again, here you go again )) Need your kisses )) These two posts combined are some sort of black magic. Running 4xVega 64 @ 1550H Monero mining @ 930W total system draw. The trick to moving the HBCC slider was true. All cards 1200 before. Moved the slider up one notch on each card and hit apply one at a time. Now 1550. At around 60% fan speed each card is going no higher than 65C. These same settings yield 41 MH ETH mining but at much higher power draw (1200W). Running 4xVega 64 @ 1550H Monero mining @ 930W total system draw. . From 1 card you have 1550 ? or from all?

Is there any hard facts about this series yet? I'm sure AMD knows that mining is starting to become a much larger share than pc gaming. Otherwise the old Tahiti gpu would not still be selling for up to 80% of its price in 2013 on Ebay.
I think the Vega is not as good value as the 1070 or 1080 in terms of efficiency. Why?? maybe is better in long term from 1080 and 1070 and 1080 TI
