Bitcoin is proven resilient in times of global economic crisis and inflation while stock market plummets since companies is the number one affected for recession period. Bitcoin  is independent assets that doesn’t rely on the global economy/fiat.

Well, that's in theory and it happened more in the beginning. Nowadays it is more and more related to the financial markets and its behavior is directly related to the liquidity in the market.

Also based on the Bitcoin price history. Bitcoin price is only moving upwards every cycle despite there’s a correction occur. So this kind of assets is the best asset to invest in dire situation since you have an assurance that it will come back again no matter how hard down due to the recession.

This also happens with shares. Look at what happened in 2020, as discussed above. Both Bitcoin and stocks fell, only to end up recovering and surpassing highs in a short time. The difference is that Bitcoin is more volatile. It falls harder but recovers faster and rises higher.

Not all stocks are the same though. Some stocks go down during a recession but not all. Defensive stocks are usually the stars of a recession period. It is because people will always have to use toothpaste, toilet paper, medicine etc… It is hard to beat these stocks during a recession.

Btc on the other hand usually acts like a leveraged nasdaq index fund and the Nasdaq stocks are mostly tech stocks. Tech stocks don’t do well in a recession so I think Bitcoin won’t be an exception.

In a recession I would go with the defensive stocks. P&G, Walmart, BAT, CVS, Costco, MCD, PEP are very popular and rock solid choices.

Why would anybody be interested in a CPU version of Kangaroo now that Moore's Law has basically died out and NVIDIA RTX gpus are getting ever faster?

My CPU implementation produces on an i7-13700f the same performance as my GTX 1080 with JLP's code. CPUs are way more popular, and thus we can use many more computers if we focus on the CPUs and get better outcome.

I have a version from here:

It's official. The Gemini exchange founders (the Winklevoss twins) have donated $2 million (USD) to help support Trump's campaign. Read all about it here: https://www.reuters.com/world/us/gemini-founders-donate-1-mln-bitcoin-trump-2024-06-20/

I guess the crypto industry now views Trump as the ideal presidental candidate to help spur its growth across America. If everyone unites, Biden won't stand a chance in getting re-elected as President of the United States. The "heavy-handed" regulations towards the crypto/Blockchain industry might've angered industry players against Biden and his Democratic Party. Could Trump's support of Bitcoin be enough to propel him to the White House? Only time will tell.

What do you think about this donation? Will it make a huge difference on Trump's re-election campaign? If not, why? Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much. Smiley

Actually, they are the same as Biden, who now has an interest in Bitcoin because they know that there are many investors in their countries who are fanatics about bitcoin, and because of the election, they will really use that attraction to get the vote of their citizens, and that is no longer surprising too.

So if someone gave him $2 million, that would be a big deal for Trump in his campaign as a presidential candidate. If before he was the President then he was defeated by Biden, who knows that this time Biden is the current President, the situation has also been reversed, and now it is back to Biden what happened in the last election, right?

Basically everyone invests for profit whether short or long term but the long term results of investing in Bitcoin are relatively good. You can expect 2x or 3x your profit with long term investment here long term means 4-10 years but you may need to hold longer. However, it may take less time to get your desired profit. I myself prefer to be in a long-term approach to just accumulating bitcoins which is a simultaneous holding.

I've been buying Bitcoin and not into stocks despite that many of my friends have been encouraging me to buy those. I've chosen to buy Bitcoin instead of it and that's why this is what I have and don't have stocks at all. But I don't know during the recession period. We're all believing that this is the hedge against inflation and it's been made during the 2008 crisis.

It's able to survive during the pandemic and Ukraine-Russian war. So what's more to ask about it? Maybe the worst hasn't come yet but I believe that even on the toughest period of time that the entire world is going to go through with such recession, Bitcoin will survive no matter what happens. It's designed to survive it although it's been made as a peer to peer cryptocurrency but then its attributes have changed and became one of the best assets on this century.

Hey!

I want to re use a S19 J Pro i have as a space heater, the problem is noise an power usage. Currently i am using braiins OS+ and the lowest power limit i can set is 1700w for all 3 hashboards. The firmware will not let me go any lower. And the hashboards overheat with Noctua fans running at 2000rpm (for noise)

Ideally would be if it was possible to set it at 1kw for all 3 hashboards.

Om my S9 i can set it as low as 300w and it enough to run it with low noise as it help keeping the bathroom warm. 1.7 kw is too much for the apartment and too noisy.

Anyone else been experimenting with this?

2 boards of 3 set to 60th will give you 40th and 1200 watts.

fans set to 30% will be fairly quiet

see my 2 threads

s19 xp

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5485850.0

you can get it fairly quiet but not truly quiet  rpm at 3000 or so.

or you could really effort by buying this controller

https://altairtech.io/product/epic-umc/

and these fans

https://www.ebay.com/itm/156038688016?

when set to 30% speed they will be good enough to cool the unit  if you run 2 boards at 60th giving 40th and 1200 watts

they will do about 2800 rpm and be marginally quieter.

Only $2 million? C’mon you cheapskates, what will Trump do with $2m? Have a lunch? Demrats are pumping millions to Biden every minute. Reps should do better if they are serious about winning the election. Trump is rich that’s true but almost all the s&p500 companies are WEF bitches so it is hard to win against a financial power like that. I know Trump will win anyway but let’s don’t take that risk this time. He was supposed to win in 2020 too but look what happened.
