Can Bitcoin be a good investment over stocks in a recession period ? Also, explain why do you feel so ?
Our choice of investment should be based on what we believe. If you are the type who has so much faith in the stock market and is too lazy to handle your security by yourself, then the stock market will be the best option for you.

But if we are to go with privacy and self-custody, then bitcoin is the best option for me. You have to be the one to decide what you really want and where you want to invest your money.

Each type of investment has its own risk, and you need to weigh them based on what your purpose or investment is and choose the one that will be best suited for that investment purpose.

When is he going to jail, though?  Going to be difficult to run for office from a cell.  Doesn't sound like a sensible investment from the Winklevii.  Or it's just a ridiculously expensive political statement.

I don't know that anyone believes that the former US president will end up in prison, especially since he is a presidential candidate, which complicates the situation significantly. I think that there is a certain number of people in high politics who want to see him in prison, but I also think that there is a very large number of influential politicians and businessmen who are doing everything they can to prevent this from happening. The twins are just one more in a row playing a card that seems to be winning for them at the moment - and even if Trump doesn't win, those 15 BTC is not something that means too much to them.

Very smart move on the part of Tinky and Winky.  Grin

Using Lawfare against a political opponent is not going to end well for the Democrats.  It's a stupid and ill conceiver strategy born of desperation.
The bullshit lawsuits and kangaroo court proceedings are doing nothing to hurt President Trump and are actually helping him politically and financially.
Biden and the Democrats are failing miserably and had better start offering something to the American People other than "Orange Man Bad".   Roll Eyes

I still dont get why people think stocks is like gambling while bitcoin is not. Both are equally volatile and have their own set of risks with overlap. Does not make either of them good or bad, they have their own unique profile.

In the time of recession, the costs of goods may drop and income may also reduce unless you are working in some specific sectors. You might not have money at hand to be able to continue to investing-rich lifestyle instead have to come to minimalist lifestyle to choose the needs over luxuries and by all means investing is a luxury that comes after needs.

So if you are already invested in bitcoin before a recession hits, then it makes sense.

This might help anyone else that is using a Raspberry PI 3B etc for running a few stick miners et'al

Using the stock Raspberry PI 64bit (Bullseye) OS

If you're seeing lots of warnings in dmesg like this :-

Code:
WARN::dwc_otg_hcd_urb_dequeue:639: Timed out waiting for FSM NP transfer to complete on 2

That eventually cripple USB performance, this is due to the 64bit driver not fully supporting FIQ (whatever the hell that is!)

See thread here:-

https://github.com/raspberrypi/firmware/issues/1804

By appending the following to the end of /boot/cmdline.txt command line parameters,

Code:
dwc_otg.fiq_enable=0 dwc_otg.fiq_fsm_enable=0

this disables fiq and after a reboot, no more error messages and no more crippled USB performance.

Hopefully it'll help you out too.

It certainly seems to have fixed the problems I was seeing.

Cheers

G.

I like bitcoin because you can hold it and have complete control over your coins, unlike stocks that you do not have complete control over.

Stocks are many. There are some that are very volatile like gambling just like altcoins are very volatile. Bitcoin is less volatile. So if you want to compare both, you can mention the stock that you want to compare bitcoin with. But as for me in general, I will prefer bitcoin.

If you look at past data, you will easily get the answer to the question relative to your country because recession is rarely universal else it becomes global economic meltdown like we had in 2008 when bitcoin was not yet created. As for country specific recession, bitcoin is definitely a good alternative because whenever currencies fails, people look towards other assets of which bitcoin has proven to be one of such reliable asset. I remember in 2020 during the coronavirus pandemic, a lot of people invested in bitcoin and towards the end of the year, the price moon when stocks were crashing.
