While it seems dormant (LTC that is), it's going to explode when the BTC halving goes full Bull. If you haven't loaded up by now, then the mega rally the LTC is (will be) during a BTC bull rally will make you jealous and even this ETH rally won't supplant it/or mess with it. Litecoin is such a buy now it isn't even funny. That's right I said it! the sideshows here won't lead you to the promised land as it is at this point.
1 year later. + good call on the BTC bull rally. - but LTC has yet followed suit, but it has maintained capital, and increased trade volume and transactional usage. -likely LTC will be a common inlet for capital once the BTC bull rally peaks and rolls over.

We've had a decent bull season so far (in terms of btc) but I think we're far from over w/ these corrections in between rises. I'm even more bullish on ltc now that this segwit appears to be making a go of things - we'll know more next month. Furthermore, the btc price could see a surge in the even that an ETF is approved. Either way, world financials are looking dismal and btc is looking like the alternative to gold and an even better safe haven. Lastly, I think the btc price being so high for the average person looking at crypto will sticker shock them into the likes of ltc or even eth.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I haven't seen any promising development going on for Litecoin. Does it mean that it will die soon? I don't want to FUD, but I just want to make sure if LTC could be a good investment for long term, since I have been doubting myself of it. So, will Litecoin have a future? And one year after Lite Coin is still standing even still gathering discussion although not leaving to expectation, but because its still being talked about is a development in the direction there are several coins that have come after LTC and no where to be found today. So I believe, there is still a future as we still have exchange site listing it while some gambling site still accepts it...

I guess you are right. If Litecoin remains tradeable at exchanges, and useful among gambling sites, then there should be nothing to worry about. Also, I have seen that Litecoin has implemented the SegWit scalable solution into its codebase, so it should be a matter of time before it gets approved by the miners, making LTC faster than ever before. One of the many things that I have admired about Litecoin is that transaction confirmation times are much faster, than Bitcoin. But other than that, it lacks constant development and innovation, in my own opinion. Nevertheless, I hope that LTC would remain widely used among users, making it grow as time goes by. Just my opinion.

As long as betting sites accepts Litecoin and the transaction charges are really low and faster i would really like to use Litecoin than the rest of the coins and that is the how the future will be and i expect the price of the coin to increase than the present situation.

if all you care about in a cryptocurrency is the speed of transaction and the "charges" or in other words paying lower fees then use Dogecoin or even Reddcoin (RDD) you can even send them with zero fees and get confirmation in a couple of seconds.

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip. Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

True. While there are many other altcoins, that are quite much faster than LTC, there are a very few which have Litecoin's value proposition. In other words, since Litecoin is much older than most altcoins, it has better security (due to established nodes), a higher hashrate, and others. That is why it is sometimes seen as silver to Bitcoin's gold. But still, if you only want to transfer coins in a near instant way, then you could always choose from the wide array of altcoins which have smaller networks, cheaper fees, and are good for micropayments like Reddcoin. Testing out different altcoins myself, i'd say that Ripple is the fastest one in transaction confirmations. It has good features and all, but the only thing that it lacks it is true consensus, not to mention that it has a centralized model. Nevertheless, I hope that Litecoin could make the difference among the wide array of altcoins, if SegWit becomes activated on it. Just my opinion.

If Bitcoin were to get wider adoption, but fail to ever apply SegWit or LN than Litecoin would wind up being used for transactions while BTC would be a store of value. Actually lets assume BTC got SegWit and it keeps up with transactions. Once the Bitcoin value increases the transaction fees would cripple BTC for small purchasing so Litecoin would have a purpose and in this instance the name Litecoin is very strategic for this role
There are other alts right now that have a much larger return on investment, but right now I would say Litecoin is on sale. Thing is I think it's more profitable to hold in Bitcoin and climb that ride up and put into Litecoin later on.

one thing about litecoin that you should know is that it has always been alive through all the previous years, and so little number of coins can say they could stay alive for that long.
and litecoin's staying alive has never been just staying alive and being around (like doge for instance) it has always been more of constant development and going towards the future.
the latest biggest development is the implementation of Segwit in litecoin.
with all that said, we have been seeing a big volume in this coin for as long it existed and the price has been rising and having awesome rallies with huge profits.
don't forget that Chinese exchanges have only 2 coins: bitcoin and litecoin and nothing else.

Eh, but did you ever heard some betting site was accepting litecoin bet? Do you think the current litecoin fees is very high? With 4 times the speed of bitcoin and litecoin was also including on the fastest altcoin.

While it is nice to see Litecoin, giving a step forward towards implementing SegWit into their code, it still lacks innovation. There many other altcoins out there which provide advanced features and constant development from their team. Still, as long as Litecoin remains traded on the markets, then there should be nothing to worry about it becoming dead anytime soon. I think that Bitcoin, Litecoin and Ethereum will co-exist for years to come, as they're the most widely used cryptocurrencies in the world, with a strong network hashrate, and a solid community. The Chinese would probably remain with Bitcoin and Litecoin as their cryptocurrencies of choice to make profit out of mining, in my own opinion. They're the ones who usually move the markets, which may be one of the reasons why Bitcoin's price has been increasing each day. The only thing is that Chinese control most of BTC's hashrate, and they will eventually switch out to mining LTC full time once BTC becomes unprofitable and hard enough for them to continue their mining operations. Just my opinion.
