My understanding is that the ice age on Ethereum is starting even though they are not moving to PoS as its not ready.  What I'm curious about as I just saw BitcoinEXpress tinkering with 580s on mining.  If there was a hard dump of Ethereum into the solid 50s (not all that unlikely with the 1bil+ raised in shitty ICOs).  Will it be possible with ice age + market dump and miners moving to more profitable coins for him to fork?

Could this be the ultimate showdown?

BitcoinEXpress has forked and destroyed a bunch of PoW coins.  The most notable if which was Auracoin & back in the day he and ArtFonz were some of the first GPU bitcoin miners.

AFAIK Fonz has disappeared

The NOOBS here have no clue who those people are.

BCX is no doubt capable of quite a lot of things and has huge hashing power... but to fork ethereum I think through sheer mining power is unlikely isnt it?

Or would he be able to achieve this in some other way?

It was Artforz and he's still with us in a sense.

Relax I'm just hobby mining with a SINGLE rig experimenting with low power units.

Nothing more.

Killing coins is of legend and days past.

ETH hacking had zero to do with ETH hack itself, this was not a code exploit

It was the age old recipe of newbies, online wallets and dumbasses trusting them.

The particular coin doesn't matter when you have those ingredients.

Actually BCX never got to do anything at all to Auroracoin, he just pointed out weaknesses that were dealt with before he claimed his attacks. Auroracoin is still very alive today. Not only one of the oldest, but especially the most stable coin around I might add.

A fool will just look at the finger, even if it points to paradise!
