To declare it without emotion for or against bitcoin cash:
There will also after August 1. exist only one bitcoin (btc).
And there is additional an altcoin, named bitcoin cash (bcc).
You can grab it for free, if you are owner of bitcoin before August 1. and have your bitcoins on supported wallet with private key or an exchanger that also supports the split f.e. bittrex.
On bitcoincash.org you will find more infos how you can grab bcc, if you want to.
And nothing dramatic will happen to btc.

Yes two Bitcoin, the first one is the original BTC from Satoshi, the 2nd one is ripped version the centralized in favor of chinese miners.

For heaven sake, save the original BTC bitcoin. Dump BCC. We do not need a centralized coin.

This expained well about my confusion in this issue. I wonder how bcc will affect the price of btc. Since bcc is an alt and you can get it only for free. What is the starting price and is there a chance that the price would also rose to where is btc now.

I'm a little confused. So, bitcoin will be splitting, and what is the main coin?  Roll Eyes

As far as I know, there will be no split. The Bitcoin cash, or BCC as it is known, will be just another altcoin. So don't worry about the chain split. It is not going to happen. But in my opinion, it will be wise to keep your private keys securely. Because if something really bad happens, then you can chose the path you want if you have access to your private keys.

Yes, BCC will be considered as altcoin. The chances of bitcoin fork is highly likely because of the greed of the behind BCC. But its up to you whether to stick with BTC or BCC. I have made my decision to stick to BTC though. Although BCC is a free money, I will not hold on it and immediately dump it once I got it. No used for me except its a free coin. I would rather stay with BCC which is already established.

I think it's going to be the bitcoin that's the main coin, because it's unlikely that bitcoincash will cost the same as bitcoin, it could be a bad dumper coin later in the market, because every bitcoin will get bitcoincash some of their bitcoin

At the moment, as I understood bitcoin cash can be baught 1:1 with butcoin. Bitcoincash.org has listed several exchangers for bitcoin cash.

Yes, bitcoin will be slot into bitcoin (BTC) and bitcoin cash (BCC). We don't know what will be the main coin, I'm hoping fro BCC, but seeing input from other users and large exchanges, it seems like good old bitcoin will be the main coin.

who cares

Lots of overly complicated or uneducated answers here so to dumb it down without being wrong, there needs to be a fork which deviates from the old code. Someone else can pick up that code and change it as they wish and people will choose to support it or not. That other one will be bitcoin cash. I doubt it'll be successful.

It won't work like a free dividend. The price of btc will come down by the amount that bcc is worth.

For long term price it will depend on which coin gets the majority of hash power support. Currently btc is far ahead

Although bitcoin is split, but bitcoin core is still the official currency, it is actually bitcoin. Bitcoin cash is just like a substitute solution, minimizing the pressure for bitcoin.

Do not be confuse because in this case, let suppose of you are holding a Bitcoin, post the split, you will be holding two Bitcoins. It is because the original Bitcoin will be copied into the two chains. But wait there's more, also there is a possibility that SegWit won’t get activated. In this case UASF will be live, which means now two chains will be created in the Bitcoin Blockchain. Any Bitcoin block that does not supports SegWit will get rejected and will be added in the other chain.

That's what we don't know yet. I'm not going along with larger blocks (SegWit2x hard fork) just because the miners and those who have an interest in larger blocks spammed Bitcoin to promote their adjenda.

Large blocks are not beneficial to miners conversely, their masses will be reduced if bitcoins carry larger masses. That's why they always refuse segwit before.

For example you can look on Ethereum, which has a fork Ethereum classic. In this case we will have just another currency, which will be supporting bitcoin. Still bitcoin would be a core currency and bitcoin cash will be support.

You do not need to be confused for this ,, in my opinion there will be only one bitcoin and there will be no second bitcoin. If there is a BCC in your Bitcoin wallet, it is free for you. And if in my opinion, Bitcoin will still be the main thing. As you know, that bitcoin is the first Crypto or originator of Criptocoin

Well at least now we know that majority of the bitcoin community doesn't like the second version of btc. This bitcoincash would just be ignored and disappear just like an altcoin that no one cares about.
Or maybe not? because bitcoin cash is another cryptocurrency maybe it will be became famous just like other coin but I hope after the splitting the bitcoin will pump again and I am sure after that there will be many ICO that is going to start. I am looking forward to bitcoin cash since it is a free coin.
if same thing will happen with etc and eth surely it is a free money for everyone as we seen how that happen and those who have a lots of eth really
enjoy since the first week or months of etc really hype the value and traders got some chance to enjoy the ride.

Lol i feel you. I'm such a newbie and really don't understand about this august 1. What i only know is just bitcoin will split.
What's going to happen though? Except that the price might be drop and such.
I'm clearly clueless... Someone please help explain this to me. Because usually i read that people don't really know too about this.

Remember, there is always one, only one bitcoin. BTC is bitcoin and BCC is Bitcoin Cash
On August 1st, it’s likely the Bitcoin blockchain will split into two different coins. The UAHF (User Activated Hard Fork) is incompatible with the current Bitcoin protocol and will create a separate blockchain, and bcc just has minority support from miners and exchanges.
So, no need to worry about it, just wait until all clear about hard fork, and we could transact bitcoin again on August 2nd, hopefully soon.

Well we will stick to the original bitcoin still. The bitcoin cash which would be the product of split will not be recognize as the main bitcoin. But I really dont support the bcc. Only btc for life.
