Looked at altcoins and they've started rallying pretty hard all at once, whats the reason for this? Is it because of Bitcoin going sideways for a decent while or some other reason?

I think that is mostly due to bitcoin going sideways. Some coins are almost stoping change. But BNB is opposite or change Inconsistently with BTC or LTH.

Seems like altcoin investor by seeing the flagship on altcoin at the first view. Bitcoin is the emerging in the market now and following that only we will find the altcoins value going upper in the market.
This time bump is happening because of taxation issue happening on US.
Other than that I do not think there would be a any reason for the price rise apart from this.

Taxation News on US might be a possible reasons for this price pump but we cant still be sure that this would be the only one yet there are lots of factors that do affect cryptocurrency coins in the market as of now. Some pumps into big percentage on a short period of time which isnt surprising but i would still always prefer on gradual increase not on having a sharp rise up but well as long we can able to make profits then get out or hold even more which this would depend into ones decision.

There is only one day left before the end of the US tax period. After April 17th I expect a big rise.

The reason why all altcoins are green is because bitcoin is also green and has an increasing trend. Positive wave in bitcoin also affects altcoin to rally.

Because, altcoin prices are relatively low when compared with bitcoin, so altcoin is seen to move faster.
Along with the growing enthusiasm of citizens against cryptocurrency, bitcoin will still grow and move up albeit slowly (not as fast as altcoin), because small sales are still occurring in various exchange sites.

They just follow the trend of the market, whole market grows - so alts grow as well.

I also noticed this tendency to name specific reasons for such behavior is quite difficult. Perhaps because of the long decline in the price of bitcoin. Many people think that the Union will give an advantage.

Yes if the conclusion from me it is very difficult to jump to its conclusion is that the price of Bitcoin has made the whole market decline for several weeks. Maybe we stop or now, we do not know. But beware.

All altcoins are tied to bitcoin. If bitcoin goes down then all altcoins go down. If the top and altcoins are going up.

A well deserved and long awaited rally for all coins if you ask me. Bitcoin and even other cryptocurrencies have been experperiencing massive bearish movement for the pas few months but now it seems that the cycle's bottom has been reached.

When you're at the bottom, there is nowhere to go but up.

Most of the people who are moving to altcoins giving upon btc tend to think that btc has no future and bearish trend will continue in the future also but they are not realizing that btc is base for all the coins in the market and most of coins follow its trend and they remains behind it and btc remain much more profitable inspite of these dips and when market recovers prices will surge once again and we will get our desired profits.

a lot of people looking the other way to get results. bitcoin does have potential and the movement is good, but certainly the longer these higher and certainly less good effect conferring new especially for investors who want to get started. Thus the way is nice they could do one of them by switching to altcoin.

yes, it could happen, many new investors may choose altcoin which still has a low price and according to them altcoin has a good potential too,but many investors the still trust and still like to invest in bitcoin, because of course they have the belief that bitcoin can still generate huge profits for them.
