80C is really nothing for GPUs.

Bitmain chips power down if it hits 80/degrees

Just goes to show how rank is sometimes a good measure of knowledge and accuracy.

I for one used to own some bitmain antminers which ran at 81-83 degrees during the day. I never experienced any power down or throttling compared to when they mine at around 77-78 degrees during the night.

Bitmain antminer root page says "Stop running when temperatures is over 80c" .  Asic manufactures determine that's their cutoff to protect the longevity of their products in a 24/7 operation.

Bitcointalk Ranking has nothing to do with skills at running a farm.

Sure you can be the degernate and redline your gpus all year long and fry those things when they are done.

But if you cant keep your gpus below 70 degrees you really don't know what your doing and how to properly take care of your equipment.

This is my opinion comming from someone with 30 gpus that mines in mild/hot weather in california.

You can always rise your gpu fan speed to reach better temp , and don't tell me the fan will die fast ,it won't and even if it's better to have a fan failure than a chip one.

For mining it is very important to exhaust hot air.

You do not need air conditioner. All you need is strong exhaust fan to get away from hot/dirty air.

Especially at summer you should double or tripple up your exhaust fan speed.

Some of these things are not bad:

As I mined, I have used them and never got a problem to blow the heat away.

So I read your post, and came across this video on Youtube:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59I1KvEpMco.

He concentrates on a 3-season approach, however  I'm envisioning a modified box that still vents out the top, but vents to a 3" PVC pipe, inlined coupled to a 4" fan.  This way I could run the box inside the house.  I have a pipe available to me in my utility room that is vented to the outside. A fan can be put inline.   How many CFMs does one need for a 6-card rig of 1080Tis or for multiple rigs of Tis?

For my 30 gpu I'm exhaust fan venting 1500 cfm. Gpus are around 65 degrees with auto fan speed around 65 in California weather. In the summer ill mine zcoin to further lower temps

I baby my gpus. I would never go above 70 degrees

Bitmain chips power down if it hits 80/degrees

my Bitmain runs in the 80s, sometimes even 90 and has never shutdown.
Maybe older Bitmain models did or maybe you mean the PCB and not the Chip
