80C is really nothing for GPUs.
Bitmain chips power down if it hits 80/degrees
Just goes to show how rank is sometimes a good measure of knowledge and accuracy.
I for one used to own some bitmain antminers which ran at 81-83 degrees during the day. I never experienced any power down or throttling compared to when they mine at around 77-78 degrees during the night.
Bitmain antminer root page says "Stop running when temperatures is over 80c" . Asic manufactures determine that's their cutoff to protect the longevity of their products in a 24/7 operation.
Bitcointalk Ranking has nothing to do with skills at running a farm.
Sure you can be the degernate and redline your gpus all year long and fry those things when they are done.
But if you cant keep your gpus below 70 degrees you really don't know what your doing and how to properly take care of your equipment.
This is my opinion comming from someone with 30 gpus that mines in mild/hot weather in california.
