Very strange thing i noticed: most people like to buy with bitcoin , but using altcoins very few

I think all clients i had from bitcointalk prefer to use bitcoin to buy services / products they needed ...

Not a single client that i had until now used altcoins like ethereum ,litecoin etc or tokens like usdt,usdc ....

Why do you think people don't like to use altcoins to buy things on the internet ?

What is strange about this you have said? Bitcoin was created first, every newbie that joins this community 90% of the time buys Bitcoin before considering other cryptocurrencies, so what makes you think it is strange that they are making use of Bitcoin instead of other cryptocurrencies for transactions?

Yes, there are other cryptocurrencies that are trying to compete and some of them claims to have better technology than bitcoin, but Bitcoin has been through so many tests, and it’s still going strong even at this time. The thing is, Bitcoin has gotten the most trust than any other cryptocurrency.

Actually the thing is many people are only aware about bitcoin but there are not aware about altcoins, observe the businesses that accept cryptocurrency in their system. They are only accepting bitcoin because it is the coin that they fully know and it is the coin that they trust. There are lack of knowledge about altcoins in many communities, many people see it a scam and only few people who knows the worth of it. For sure if many people understand and become aware to altcoins, they will also accept and use it like bitcoin.

People only buy bitcoin because bitcoin is more popular. Actually it doesn't really sound nor look strange at all because as expected, Bitcoin was the most popular cryptocurrency that people know and it was like what we call a trendsetter on which people do know it because it is the latest trend making it more popular. As we all know, whenever there is a new trend, whatever it is, people will surely patronize and get to engage into such thing just to say that they are in to the latest trend. Also, Bitcoin was the very first cryptocurrency that is introduced to them by their friends or relatives that are trying to convince or educate them about engaging into cryptocurrencies. Whenever people hear about cryptocurrencies, what comes into their mind at first is Bitcoin and that's make it a generic identity about cryptocurrency making Bitcoin to stand more popular even at normal or ordinary people who are still not into cryptocurrency.

With such reasons, there is really no doubt why most people do prefer to buy Bitcoin because it is the only cryptocurrency they know and familiar with. When it comes to trust, many people do also say it can be more reliable compared to other cryptocurrencies which are Altcoins that is why the obvious response from people is to buy and use Bitcoin than Altcoins.

Indeed. Most people like bitcoin to buy instead of other cryptocurrencies because they claim that they will not make any money from altcoins due to their big difference to their values. Exactly, since bitcoin is the most popular crypto and many supporters, people prefer btc as payment for their services more than any altcoins existing today. Though it doesnt mean alts are not valuable, its just that bitcoin is the first of its kind and been existing for years, it can manage to climb up after bearish market thats why it is trusted by many.

although altcoin is basically made with the mission of repairing the bitcoin flaws, but this is clearly an indication that there is no crypto which until now could outperform bitcoin from any aspect.

Bitcoin is different from altcoin and it is trusted coin for a long time ago that is why we can notice that  more people are buying bitcoin than  altcoin,  although there re some altcoin that is worth buying but still more people still believe in bitcoin than buying some good altcoin, the trust rating of the bitcoin and altcoin are always different.

I assume because cryptocurrency pioneers are bitcoin, so people are more familiar with bitcoin than the altcoin. Then according to my own perspective and I experienced it, it's because the providers of these goods or services only accept bitcoin and most of them don't yet have altcoins. So the use of bitcoin to buy something more is seen. In my opinion, it is because fluctuations in the value of altcoin are faster and greater and cause great risks and worries for service providers and goods.

I also see no reason to use bitcoin, as it has too many disadvantages compared to altcoins. If I need to make a transaction, I always use Ethereum, it suits me completely

I cant deny those facts but if you arent interested in Bitcoin then why you're here?  We do have our preference though but we cant really deny the fact that when it comes to community support
then its clear as water that Bitcoin is much better overall.It wont be on top spot for 11 years if it doesnt perform that much.Yeah there are flaws but it would only pop out on certain circumstances.
Transaction fees and confirmation wise then we can say that alts do have it but i do still love to make use of my btc in most of transactions.

When I was still a newbie before, all I think is that bitcoin is the only crypto because of its popularity and it is the leader coin. When I get to know ETH and Alts, I am not really amazed until I understand how this alts are profitable. Due to it is expensive,we can buy alot of it, or earn alot of it by joining campaigns then wait until the price becomes good. Later on I realized one thing again, not all alts succeeded unlike bitcoin.

That is one reason why people are hesitant to accept altcoins because most of the altcoins have a fixed life span and they will have a starting after which they will be pumped for a certain period and then dumped to give benefits for the investors.

Another reason why BTC payments are more preferred is lack of knowledge, because BTC transactions can not be reversed even if they have low transaction fees they might take time but usually confirm but with ETH I remember we can easily reverse a transaction before it s confirmed by sending 0 eth to yourself with same nonce. I don't remember it correctly but someone played a trick on me using it.

So people don't want these hassles and hence accept BTC instead of these new coins. It is like why people use amazon when other shopping portals are there, because people trust them and don't want hassle with new options.

Do you have any source to defend this conclusion? Your opinion might be base on location, age of customer and commodity you trade. Though bitcoin might take the lead but some other altcoin are still as much engaged in transactions. Most hackers will engage more of the other anonymous coins than bitcoin, for someone who wants to preserve the value of the coin or wants a faster transaction he could also choose other coins.

Yeah, the fact that those leading altcoins right now are just came from the original which is bitcoin, we can't say that there's no good reason to use it. Even if you see that using altcoins is more essential and has more features, you will not think that bitcoin is not very useful. Bitcoin is the foundation of all cryptocurrency that exists right now and admit it that changes happening on altcoins is due to bitcoin's changes. Bitcoin is still outperforming altcoins and we are witnesses of its multiple gains on the market.

I think people still trust Bitcoin more than any other Altcoins. We have been using and putting our trust in Bitcoin for a long time, its effectiveness is proven by time so that switching to another currency is not necessary. Moreover, there is resistance in switching between cryptocurrencies that they do not want to start to do so as transaction fees or the connections they are already using.

I guess there is no problem with that but most of the things we buy online prefers to accept bitcoin payment and not altcoins. I did not here for online services or online payment that will accept alts as payment maybe this can be happened for a person to person transactions.

Because most people only know Bitcoin, and also not many merchants accept payments with altcoins. Moreover, many
ICO projects that scams, increasingly make people avoid using altcoins. That is the most reason makes sense, and therefore
needs more education about altcoins. So in the future we can see a lot of people use altcoins to buy products.
