The government can certainly have uniformed officers who are honest in carrying out their duties to catch the perpetrators of illegal activities. And even though it was difficult, they would have help from the people around who would help find information on where the cockfighting took place.

Maybe if the government that allows gambling can legalize cockfighting to get income from the business, it won't be difficult for cockfighting organizers because they can hold it in many places. At the same time, the government can also get additional income. Thus, the government can implement regulations and all parties can get their respective wishes.

There are only a few places in Asia where gambling is legal (such as Macau and Singapore). But in none of the countries around the world, cock fighting is legal. In some countries such as India and Spain, bull fighting is legal because it is recognized as a part of the culture. Countries such as Indonesia and Vietnam should also do the same for cock fighting, because it is part of their culture. I don't know how much they want to preserve their culture, because nowadays everyone either wants to be a Westerner or Arab.

Depends on how those countries will implement any government rules regarding to cockfighting. We all know that there are Asian countries if not many, but there are who still patronize this gambling.

I have seen it many times on television where people in uniform do something to protect against the illegal activity of any business and not just gambling. In the end, the authorities caught them red-handed handing over security money and reported it to the public. And it's no longer a secret if a person or several people in uniform use their power to have a side business. It really needs people who are honest in their duties to eradicate these illegal activities because it will never be easy.

Regulations are never implemented if officials in uniform are dishonest in their duties, they forbid it because they do not get a tip from the provider of the cockfighting place and after they get it, the torture of cockfighting is allowed to go free without any regulations, so honest officials are needed to eradicate cockfighting gambling, so Animal abuse will not happen again in the future.

well , I have known many official that is truly involving in cockfighting , they even owned many cocks or being operator of the gambling place , so basically this will be harder to totally eradicate as this has been spread in the whole country .

I had no idea that politicians are so involved with cock fighting. Probably makes sense if you have a lot of money and want to bet on an exclusive event. With enough money you could train your own cocks to fight for you. It really depends on how popular and legal the game is itself. In my country it falls under animal cruelty and is not allowed. If there ever would come out a story of a politician running a cock fighting game out of his backyard, then his political career would be over. People in my country love to demonstrate against everything, right now it's mostly against pollution and for climate change, but in the past there were also demonstrations for animals. When it's a big sport in a country for hundreds of years than it can't be changed overnight. In my opinion there is a difference between watching the sport because you have cultural ties to it and betting a lot of money on it with the sole purpose of making money.

Yes, that's correct. Cockfighting operations as long as it was legal were also complying with taxes. Since the industry is so big, especially in those countries that allow the operation, it's one of the best revenue that a government can rely on.

It's too risky for a politician to operate or influenced an illegal cockfighting operation as to why they should do it if, in the first place, they can just be involved with it legally and have no worries about being hunted down by the authorities.

That's why the government, regardless of the country, is seriously tracking down illegal cockfighting operations so that people will only choose those legal operations over illegal operations where no taxes are being gained.

I don't know how people feel seeing animals fighting for their life and gamblers betting on them, I used to see some young men with dogs wrestling each around my environment, and most times I use to feel bad that those dogs are being maltreated.
I think the government should put in place some law that protects animals, and anyone found wanting should face the rout of the law because animals are not getting the necessary protection their to deserve and their owners choose to do whatever their wish to the point of gambling on the life of those animals. Cock fighting is not too popular nowadays.

Yup, the government is the one that needs to act in order to lessen this kind of gambling, but like what I mentioned before from my replies, even the government will apply rules. There are still people who will continue.

As someone who grew up with a family that loves to engage in cockfighting (we even have a designated farm raising cockfighters), stricter regulations must be implemented and harsh sanctions must be executed who violate such.

Felt your story mate because I also came from an Asian household that really loves engaging in this kind of sports, cockfighting. My take is that time to time, these kind of gambling will somehow cease because not every household have some kid that will continue the tradition, in my case, none of my siblings takes any interests to inherit it and we chose our own ways far from it.
