^ I guess so... And there's a kind of prestige for being a Punk holder. Not really sure why many people hate the pixel art of Punks as I think it's one of the best looking ones out there imho, if not the best.
True about the prestige part... way more than the Bored Apes Yacht Club -- what a disaster. To be honest, when I first saw CryptoPunks I was like "damn these look like shit"

but then I started learning about how they were made, the significance of what they did, and came to the realization that the art of NFTs doesn't really matter -- just the provenance, and it many cases, the surrounding hype.
As for NFTs making a comeback... Dunno about that but I do hold some for airdrop farming purposes.

Hope it pays off as some of them aren't exactly cheap.
I think most people cringe when they hear the term "NFT". I'm up for a rebranding to the term "blockchain collectibles."
