I don't know how much successful they can be, when the Russia’s Prosecutor General has issued the following statement:

Systems for anonymous payments and cyber currencies that have gained considerable circulation — including the most well-known, Bitcoin — are money substitutes and cannot be used by individuals or legal entities.

As I've heard, in Russia things are always changing, day after day, so I suppose that we can make any conclusion only in a long-term. Also there is Bitcoin Conference in Russia on 23th April, sp I don't think that everything is so bad as we use to think.

Very interesting article and I believe one day Russia will accept bitcoin as a legal way to pay fot things.

Future plans In the near future, the CCFR is planning to hold a general meeting of the Fund members who will elect a head of the Council, the Audit Committee, and the Supervisory Board. Igor Chepkasov of the CCFR has stated that he will likely remain “just the founder” of the Foundation as it finds an appropriate candidate for its head. Worth bearing in mind that it is almost impossible to run a business, charity or political organisation in Russia without breaking the law. Many laws are either not enforced, or the police will take bribes not to pursue them.

In either case, you are left in a situation where government officials can have you arrested for political motives, citing your previous crime as the reason.
