There will never be mainstream bitcoin adoption due to the intelligence barrier.

However, there might emerge products from more mainstream companies that give laypeople exposure to bitcoin for vig.

Agreed!

For those of you who haven't seen Premium Rush (Don't feel bad. Why just this morning, I myself hadn't seen it!), the premise is that there's a lady who needs to get $50,000 cash to this other lady, but because what she's doing is slightly shady, there's a trusted third party who takes the cash in return for a ticket. The ticket has no identifying information so it's redeemable by whomever holds it for $50,000. The other lady will accept that ticket (Just not cash. Nor paypal.) and the first lady uses Joseph Gordon-Levitt's bike courier service to deliver it from Columbia to Chinatown.

Things would have been a lot "easier" if they'd just used BTC!
