Not sure why any trusted user would sell their balance at 50% off when it can easily be cashed out at 65% or even up to 80% value.
Because the typical method require buying stuff off the store, waiting for a while, losing a ton to market fee, then selling those item for cash and lose even more. In the end you're left with less than half.
By just using the fund to buy for a proxy, you don't pay any fee. So this method can be worthile. And again depending on the method, it doesn't have to be exactly 50%, hence the "~" in OP. 40% off seem to be the going rate, so this is a completely valid offer. Especially if the seller get a better rate than usual.
