I'm looking for "Jr. Member", "Member", and "Full Member" ranked accounts that believe they have quality posts relating to Bitcoin which may deserve merit. I will ignore requests from accounts that consistently post or seek information for bounty programs, ICOs, or altcoins. I am not a merit source and my supply of sMerits is limited. I'm going to try to limit my count to 1 sMerit per quality post but will still merit multiple posts under 1 account if they are decent posts. I'll end this thread when I've run out of sMerits. (I'm trying this thread out in Beginners & Help but may need to move it)

You do not need an advanced technical understanding of Bitcoin but the majority of your posts have to be related to Bitcoin in some way and preferably not the same repetitive questions and comments that are always posted and have been done hundreds of times.

Want to see if your topic/question has already been discussed?
Type this into Google: <here is my question or topic> site:bitcointalk.org
examples: "Is mining safe site:bitcointalk.org", "Who accepts Bitcoin site:bitcointalk.org", "How to buy Bitcoin site:bitcointalk.org"
Explore the results.

For those who have no clue what Merit is: Here is an infographic explaining Activity, Merit, and the new requirements.
For those who have no clue what BTC is or do not care about Bitcoin: I'd ask that you find another forum relating to your interests.

If you want me to review your posts, reply to this thread and I'll take a look.

what's wrong in seeking altcoins?) It may be our next epoque.

All this merit-related stuff is very typical for large forums and feels extremely snobbish anywhere. The bar is too high for newcomers to join the club of the God-blessed charity-givers whose badges are, oh gosh I cannot believe, sooo large today, mmm

Please feel free to browse through https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1459810;sa=showPosts and merit anything you may consider worthy thereof. Thanks!

Thank you. There are probably other posts of yours that deserve merit and the ones I have merit'd may even deserve more... with a somewhat limited supply and not a lot of friends on this forum, I'm trying to spread my sMerits around. I'm not sure how many sMerits I will really accrue going forward after I've sent what I have, it all depends on how people use the system. Even with high quality posts, there is no guarantee I will receive merit and thus will not have sMerits to send. I'm hoping it works as intended but only time will tell. I may revisit your posts in the future.

I believe the overwhelming majority of altcoins are ripoffs, copycats, or scams. There are some worth researching but I've made a personal choice to send my sMerits to people supporting and discussing Bitcoin. Why? This is Bitcointalk. It is all in the name... Bitcoin Talk. When the forum switches to Litecointalk, Shitcointalk, or Altcointalk, I might merit altcoin posts... assuming I'm still here.

The system is new and may very well be refined in the future... but don't worry, it's not the size of the badges, it's how you use them.  Shocked

Thank you, you’ve been very generous. It’s indeed difficult to anticipate how much merit one will accrue going forward. But the merit concept does nicely gamify the ranking system here Smiley

Oh, I'm afraid we can rest assured it won't, it's not a common habit for big forums to lose a quarter of their visitors - like it would happen to bitcointalk in case they say "no altcoin topics pls, only bitcoin, let's be aristocratic"  Wink

I support BTC but to be honest I am interested also in a few altcoins (not shitcoins) as being part of cryptoworld. Being only a few months in this I try to answer posts from newbies where they ask things I was asking also in the beginning.
