So I've already made a thread about this, I didn't realise this meta section existed  Roll Eyes

Perhaps it can be transferred over to here by the mods?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3114074

Basically my 2013 account has been hijacked, the first thing he tried to do was recover my deleted private messages because I previously talked about sending a wallet.dat to another trusted member of the forum (I know that was stupid, but back then I was clueless) Next thing he did was shill a scamcoin, as can be seen in the threads started in 2017 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;threads;u=80189;sa=showPosts

so annoying.

You need to follow the account recovery procedure as laid out in a sticky on this board : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0
There is a big backlog of accounts, and I believe only theymos and Cyrus have the capability to recover hacked accounts as opposed to locked or forgotten password accounts. Read the instructions carefully, have patience and pray you can still prove your ownership of the account. You will have no problems if this is something you can do.

At the bottom left side of threads you have created you are able to move them yourself clicking something like "Move Thread" then selecting which board you would like your thread to appear in. That way you won't need to create a new thread next time and you can simply move it to the right place.

Thanks for the advise!

I'm looking through my old posts to identify any bitcoin addresses I posted, I still have all my old wallet.dat files from back then so I should be able to sign a message if I've posted a btc address.

On a sidenote, it looks like the bitcoin discussion section is overrun with spambots, so not to sure if it's a good idea to transfer that thread over to here!?
