Bitcoin and Ethereum are two of the most popular digital coins today. In terms of value, bitcoin is much larger than ethereum, but in terms of potential, ethereum is quite capable of dealing with bitcoin. So you think which one is better?

Both of this two heavy weights of crytocurrency have played a vital role in the crypto community. But if we talk about potential I can't agree with your statement which ETH has more potential than BTC. BTC can be replace by any other coin even by ETH.

Both coins are very good and it is quite fair that they occupy the first two lines. It does not make sense to compare them completely different

Now the price for btc is growing every day by 1-3%.  The price of eth increases every day by 5-6%.  I think now eth is better than btc.

ETH is more promising due to the use of Blockchain in different spheres and the real world. And what is Bitcoin? It was created just to exchange it with each other, but there are no developments on its network!  Kiss

Its quite true that when it comes to potential for growth ethereum has the edge compared to bitcoin but in the recent crash bitcoin's value has dropped a lot making it much easier to buy and hold again which I think puts it again above ethereum in terms of investment options.

Bitcoin advocates appreciate Satoshi's absence and have a more rigorous definition of decentralization of power management. They believe that Bitcoin's governance is decentralized because no single decision maker can control the entire network alone. According to their definition, Ethereum of Vitalik, which can represent and make decisions for the entire network, is not decentralized. In addition, the community tends to be separated from the government, and some developers aim to establish a sufficiently strong system to avoid any regulatory interference. In addition, many Bitcoin-based applications emphasize decentralization and demediatedization.

Ethereum supporters believe that the Ethereum community is democratic and there are some influential people such as Vitalik and Gavin Wood. Vitalik provides a clear direction for community guidance. At the same time, the community accepted most of his views not because he was the creator, but his ideas proved to be correct in most cases. Therefore, conflicts and previous hard bifurcations are more easily controlled because people with different opinions can choose to work on their own versions. Unlike Bitcoin, the Ethereum's stability and maturity have yet to be improved, but its communities have become more united and continue to make progress. In addition, since Ethereum's supporters have a more relaxed understanding of decentralization, they are more friendly to government and established companies, and their projects will be extended to licensing chains and private chains based on business needs.

Both coins are important and are the engine of the crypto currency. Therefore, it is impossible to single out one thing. Ideally, your portfolio should have both of these coins

Jörg von Minckwitz, chief executive of Bitrowa, a blockchain payment service, pointed out that due to the rise of the ICO (initial token offering) project, Ethereum has seen additional growth.

In other words, to invest in a new project, you must buy Ethereum.

I prefer long-term investments because of the greater profits later on, and I think the right choice for my long-term investment is Bitcoin, Bitcoin already has a lot of trust from so many people so I'm also confident choosing Bitcoin for my investment.

In any case, grandfather bitcoin will always be the leader, This is unequivocal. Etherium has hard times, and apparently they will last a long time, but I think he will survive, and will become even stronger due to these tests. But I would not compare Bitcoin and Ether - it's like comparing the Internet and the app in appstore.

For me bitcoin will always have the edge over ethereum because its name is synonymous to cryptocurrency. Bitcoin is able to break the barrier and get many people to be interested in cryptocurrency. However ethereum have some useful real life applications and provide a platform for so many other tokens to thrive.
