At the moment, a cryptocurrency will not replace money in any way because it is very high volatile and for most people this will not work, now the cryptocurrency market is falling and will be less volatile and then you can think about introducing coins into everyday life.

Such an event is almost impossible, and the traditional currency recognizes the existence of cryptocurrency because cryptocurrency has real technology. But it does not replace the traditional currency. This will bring the world into war. The government will not let this happen.

Technically: For sure.
Likely to happen: Fiat money will be turned into estate-backed cryptocurrencies and will be enforced (or at least, try to be enforced).

fiat money cannot be replaced by cryptocurrency, we also need fiat money in offline payments. Buying a cup of coffee at a coffee shop is not effective if you pay with crypto. more efficiently pay with fiat. But if for online payments such as purchasing goods outside the city or abroad it is highly recommended to pay using crypto. So, crypto and fiat are still needed and nothing will be replaced

in my opinion all possibilities can happen that fiat currency is replaced with crypto currency but requires a process and a long enough time to convince all crypto currencies to be worthy of fiat currency
For Bitcoin I think it is possible and it is going to happen very sooner. This year there was a hurdle for the promoters and other users of crypto because of the restrictions and the market situation but sooner it will be good and again the crypto will come on the field and will take the place of fiat in the remaining fields where it is still not implemented.

Fiat money is what we used in our daily transactions and should it replace the actual money then the anonymity might be affected and cryptocurrency will be put into a control. We know fiat is controlled by the government. This is necessary because the government would want to protect the stability of the economy. So for me it might be but the cryptocurrency we know might not be the one to be used for such purpose.

I think cryptocurrency is hard to replace fiat money, why? The fiat currency does not change its price when used in large quantities, but the cryptocurrency will change the price due to the volume of the transaction!

I think it is possible to replace the fiat money with Cryptocurrency they just need more time to make it more successful in the market and spread to the world how useful Crypto it was. And I think more people will gonna love it the way we love Crypto to invest to it with our money to make more profit.

Crypto will replace fiat for sure. The other important question is: will it be bitcoin and some other existing coins or will governments create their own coins they will be able to control easily...

At the moment, it is very difficult for me to believe that crypto-currencies can replace Fiat as a single means of payment, because for this the global economy and the banking system must completely change.

it can work alongside fiat but might not be good replacement for obvious reasons. if only there were no fluctuations and scams, it is possible. ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif)

It seems to me so far that cryptocurrency is not capable of replacing fiat money, and even in the near future it seems to me that they will exist on a par!

No i think cryptocurrency can't replace fiat, what i believe in the near future many of stores will accept cryptocurrency for payment method instead credit card / debit card. But i don't know what can happen in the next ten years, maybe crypto can replace fiat.

I am fully convinced that reliable cryptocurrencies are really of great importance for the successful development of the global digital society. Over the coming years, cryptocurrency will in any case strengthen its value for the global financial system, but cannot yet completely replace fiat.

I don't think so. Cryptocurrency has a lot of advantages in some particular cases, but it won't replace fiat money, at least in the nearest future. Nevertheless, the blockchain technology can be used (is used) to make financial system better and most likely there will be some synergy of crypto and fiat.

Crypto and fiat money have different essence. And main destination for fiat is regulation mechanism for the economy and authority control tool. And what main idea for cryptocurrency? Independence and no emission. And how those can be replaced?

Cryptocurrency cannot replace fiat money but has the potential to be used as a parallel currency with fiat. Why is that? Because to this day, the acceptance of fiat currencies is always wide in the community and is unmatched. Fiat money's becoming stronger because he's fully supported by the government.

Not right now, but its a possibility but only time is required meaning almost everyone have basic computer/ smart phone skills, understand basic sends and receive, understand basic onling security and governments have to accept, encourage and use crypto for transactions, to make people have faith in using crypto.
