The SSL certificate expired and I didn't have time or will to update it yet. And no, the project is not dead. I'm waiting for thermos and his move, that should be here by now (since that it was promised by the end of February).

Any updates?

I am interested in whether the project is still running
I see a working read-only archive but not aware of what components are functioning and which are defunct.

I see a working read-only archive but not aware of what components are functioning and which are defunct.

The read only archive is the only thing left, I was hoping to generate interest to have people post in the "local" categories, but I think that bitcoin.com/bitco.in are already funnelling the users interested in a better forum and even if they are not doing a perfect job it's still probably a bad idea to compete.

If anyone is interested in anything else/has any ideas please just let me know.

My anger against what is wrong in the Bitcoin community is productive:
Bitcointa.lk - Replace "Bitcointalk.org" with "Bitcointa.lk" in this url to see how this page looks like on a proper forum (Announcement Thread)

Is it completely dead or what?

What is the point of archiving all of the old threads?

It's useful if bitcointalk goes temporarily offline as it occasionally does, and you want to refer to something in an old thread. The information available on bitcointalk is valuable, and it's good to have a backup.

I have someone who has posted misleading and personal information about me on the site which is linked to bitcointa.lk as revenge for a miner which I returned to them after buying from them.
How can that potentially dangerous information be deleted? Any help would be appreciated.

I've spent most of my free time since when i woke up with the news spreading of the closure of MtGox on a project for an alternative forum. So, here it is.

The goal is to decentralize the Bitcointalk community by providing alternative means to access and post with the same group of people. The community you interact with is still the same, the difference is the forum software.

[Suspicious link removed], thanks for a set of web crawlers that i wrote. By simply sending a PM to a Bitcointalk.org user, you can verify your identity and link your account with the Bitcointa.lk one. You will then be able to read the Bitcointalk community from Bitcointa.lk.
Moreover, if you decide to make the jump and install a browser extension (open source (GitHub); it's needed to bypass the same origin policy of your browser), you will be able to post on Bitcointa.lk; the extension will take care of posting the same exact message on Bitcointalk.org.

Bitcointa.lk uses a recent forum software, namely XenForo, so you will have a faster navigation experience and more features. In other words, a completely renovated forum.

Every kind of feedback is welcome. Thank you for your time.

(Yes, obviously this thread was posted from Bitcointa.lk Wink)

Can you help me with taking down a misleading thread about my personal information? Thanks!

SMF4Forum. Could buy a theme for $25/yr ?

Seems like a reasonable subscription price to pay for mobile friendly rendering...

Yeah, I was somewhat saddened by this. Loved this site as an alternative UI.

I would like to put this back online adding some sort of "time machine" feature so that you can select a date (say, January 2012) and surf the forum at that time. I don't think I have posts after 2015 archived but it wouldn't matter as it's all scams nowadays and the SNR is just terrible.

What's the last date of the last post archived. The site has been taken down totally correct?
