My parents are the type of people who believe in what they can see with their eyes; they are both entrepreneurs, yet they find it difficult to invest in Bitcoin.

Most parents from Africa are like that and that is because they are not used to this online thing where you earn money without selling something physical. My mum used to think it was the same thing as internet fraud when I started with bitcoin. She used to be scared I would get into trouble with law enforcement. Her fears are not strong anymore now although she does not still understand what bitcoin is. Am not interested in enlightening her. It will be wasting  my effort.

Are your parents investing in bitcoin ? Has it impacted your journey with crypto ?
My parents are not the type of people who know the internet in detail so we didn't get the momentum for an introduction to crypto through the education they provided and they often talked about gold as an investment system. If asked whether there is any influence, I can answer that there is none at all because I got to know crypto through other people. I even talked to them about investments and the answers they gave were up to me in making decisions because the most important thing is that I understand what is being done.

But I am sure that every effort we make to improve financial conditions will always receive support, even though they themselves don't know how. Remember, that no parent wants to see their child suffer and they will always provide support for their child to achieve success wherever we are.

As much as I want them to invest for future profits, I believe the risk to lose is unbearable for them. They’re not young anymore that they can manage well their emotions and be more flexible with it, instead they’ll be easily annoyed how volatile bitcoin is and how bitcoin price quickly drop its price when majority expect it to keep surging high and reach its new all time high. So maybe bitcoin is not really for them even if they’ll say they’ll invest at their own risk.

Same here. My parents are baby boomers, so they never had anything to do with computers. They used to work using calculators and that was as far at their knowledge of digital age goes.
They don't like bitcoin because they don't understand it and by listening to them I can see Why Elizabeth Warren, Joe Biden and Warren Buffett were hostile towards bitcoin. For people in their 70s and 80s this is usually too hard to comprehend and it makes them angry. They'd rather call it a scam than spend time learning it.

Are your parents investing in bitcoin ? Has it impacted your journey with crypto ?

Lol my father does have some Bitcoin.  I told him to buy, but he did a terrible job and bought way later at terrible prices.. he wanted to sell,  I stopped him, and now he is in profit but just a little bit.

Anyway, Bitcoin is way more common in millenials and Gen z.

Are your parents investing in bitcoin ? Has it impacted your journey with crypto ?

My parents are not fans of online investment, so none of them invest in Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency. In fact, from my observations, many old people hardly invest in cryptocurrency unless those who are computer literate, especially in African countries. Old people are hardly involved in online investment; they believe much in physical investments like gold and other stuffs like that. My parents are not fans of cryptocurrency, but I believe they know about it and are aware that I am into bitcoin investment, and they never discourage me from investing in Bitcoin and other projects.

My parents didn't even know about crypto until I talked about it with them. My mom finds it very difficult to understand the whole thing, as she is not technically enlightened. Even my dad, who has asked me questions a few times about how it works, is still not convinced as to whether it is worth his investment.

My parents are the type of people who believe in what they can see with their eyes; they are both entrepreneurs, yet they find it difficult to invest in Bitcoin.

I'm the only one with my other siblings, who follow after me and have at least some basic knowledge of Bitcoin and are also holders. Buying Bitcoin might be the last thing on my parent list right now unless I'm ready to sign that whatever the outcome will be, I will take full responsibility, which I'm not ready to do.
To be honest with you all,my parents don't know what bitcoin or cryptocurrency is,my parents are way too old with this technological developments and improvements. My parents wouldn't want to involve themselves in activities with the Internet because they consider it fake precisely. My parents are not fans of the Internet,so trying to indulge them into bitcoin and secondly investing in bitcoin will take a very long time and efforts to actualize the theory on them.

I must say that they're old fashioned and they're only conversant with whatever knowledge and application/methods that they used while growing up that worked effectively for them.In as much as they don't follow upcoming trends and activities, some suggestions and advice will not need to be introduced to them.

My parents are not in bitcoin because they are enjoying their old age right now so for now I am in bitcoin not because of my parents because even my parents don't really understand what bitcoin is. But with this condition I actually become more enthusiastic to teach my younger siblings and family to look further into bitcoin.

Same as mine, they're currently enjoying their grey days, but lately my mom is beginning to pick interest in Cryptocurrency she's seen what I've achieved with it and has got prove that investing in Bitcoin is a very good idea, before the  just concluded halving my mom came across some posts on Facebook concernng it and out of ignorance she asked if it was relating to the Bitcoin am into, and if it would make her very rich we both laughed over it but I laughed harder because that's an ignorant person speaking. But I was impressed afterwards cause she showed interest and asked me to explain what Bitcoin is all about. My parents are hard working and  business minded and I'm pretty sure if Bitcoin reigned in their youthful days they would've been big investors in it, my dad in his youthful days was into Real Estate and had several landed properties while my mom was a government health worker and owned a clothing store. And with the questions they been asking me concerning Bitcoin currently I believe they would've seized the opportunity to invest in it when it came out if only they weren't ignorant of it.
All have their own time so there is no need to be forced regardless of whether our parents are in bitcoin or not I don't think it is the most important obstacle for now when we are sure of bitcoin then continue it as long as our parents are in bitcoin or not it doesn't matter because in the end we can still learn and see from those who have been in bitcoin before because learning something does not need to only refer to parents especially we are adults .

As for your parents who are currently interested in learning bitcoin then it could be a good thing but in this case I think the advice I can give is just about teaching it not to make him in bitcoin because when the current retirement age is actually the time they enjoy life with the wealth of the results of their youth not being in a risky situation like bitcoin because indeed his age is too old for that .

Introducing bitcoin to old peoples really has quite a tough challenge, old people will always feel smarter and won't easily listen to the sentences their children say, especially when we discuss technology with them, that's really a very challenge thing.  My uncle has a lot of money and he really likes to invest, but when I introduced Bitcoin to him, he rejected it and would never believe in Bitcoin.. currently, my uncle is 70 years old.

my parents are quite old, and leave all forms of business to me. So, in general, he does not invest in bitcoin. After all, I just want him to enjoy his old age with what he has worked for since he was young. However, he knows that I'm learning and invested in this, so the investment he's making is raising me and making me take care of this.

My father left us a couple of years back, and even when he was alive and with us, he didn't care much about what I was doing. He mostly used to think that I was playing games whenever I was on my computer or mobile. He later came to know that I was earning money online. I think he was happy for me but we know fathers don't usually express their emotions openly I used to sense that he realized it that I wasn't playing games any more after one point.

For my mother, it was enough for her to know that I was earning money online and I was not going somewhere out to work and this thing used to make her happy and satisfied. I don't live with her anymore because I'm in a different city, but whenever we talk on call, she always asks about what I'm doing and how is work and she is still happy that I'm not going anywhere for work.

How could it not be true, every parent, especially those born from a business family, will always direct their generation according to what their parents have taught them in the past?

and will not likely let their children make investment decisions without their consent even in BTC. The reason is simple, they don't want their children to go down the wrong path in investing.

Unless they take a moment to learn about BTC. If it has been proven, permission will be easy to obtain.

The world is advancing and we should always try our best to equipped ourselves with winnings. We should be positive all round and winning becomes constant for us. Bitcoin is one of the top projects that have brought many people to riches and have also send people to trenches, just be on the winning side. Old people have zero interests and urge when it comes to cryptocurrency. However only few acknowledge the existence of bitcoin and have taken upon their shoulders to make things run easy.

Most of our parents and parents don't understand Bitcoin, they have never even heard of Bitcoin, so it's impossible for them to invest in Bitcoin, even if you explain Bitcoin to them, they find it hard to believe the benefits of investing in Bitcoin. It's difficult for us to explain to them about Bitcoin.

Agree with you our parents do not accept Bitcoin and other crypto investment because they have not experienced profit through it but when they see our success then they start to accept it by feeling satisfied that we are earning a good amount without using any physical struggles.

Previously parents were not in favor of crypto investment because very few individuals were involved in it but nowadays every other person is a part of Bitcoin Investment so they can understand the value of Bitcoin and today's parents are encouraging their children to continue this field with great efforts.

Reading through the replies on this thread, I discovered that most of us here have parents who share the same ideology concerning anything online. It's not their fault, many factors contribute to this belief ranging from their old age, technology advancement and their previous experience with online stuffs. We grew up seeing our parents investing in some online (probably ponzi schemes) that end up running away with their money. Since then they have a different view on anything that has to do with online.

However, I will suggest you find a way to explain it better to her in whatever way you think she can understand in order not to put her in suspense. God forbid but if anything should happen now, she will definitely attribute it to bitcoin as the cause of it. Your case is somehow similar to mine but I sat her down and explained things to her in a very detailed manner to convince her I'm not a fraudster. You should also do same to keep her mind calm, it's really frustrating thou.
