Are your parents investing in bitcoin ? Has it impacted your journey with crypto ?

My parents are not used to it they are not so ignorant about such modern technology. If my parents had experience in Bitcoin then when I started Bitcoin my parents bank account had  money which I could have invested and profited multiple times in the current market. I have called them several times to invest in Bitcoin but they have not heeded me they have clearly told me to invest my own income in such investments. However I can't get my family members interested in bitcoin investing but I am focusing on my own Bitcoin investment. I am a small investor I have some amount of bitcoins invested I want to hold it for a long time until I reach my main goal.

Lol my father does have some Bitcoin.  I told him to buy, but he did a terrible job and bought way later at terrible prices.. he wanted to sell,  I stopped him, and now he is in profit but just a little bit.

Anyway, Bitcoin is way more common in millenials and Gen z.

Hard to convince old forks to eat new foods, it have to take a lot of time, talk and profable results for them to be convinced just a bit, and doing so may be late in such situations, although the pick interest either one ways or the other as long as we keep pushing our Bitcoin activities and usage to they face, in terms of investment, I think some of our parents are late to invest in Bitcoin now considering the level of finance and how much Bitcoin is cost at this time.

Even one of the youngest on here from 2010-2011 timeframe (who is no longer on here at all) was around 17-18 then and so now would be early/mid 30s since I was never clear his precise age just around there.  For those of us who were older than that then, we are obviously 14-15 years old than back then.  lol.  Our kids would answer yes to the question posed above.

On a somewhat related point I did talk to people about it fairly often back in 2010-2013 (and thereafter) but there were the typical "tulip" comments, "it is too late" etc.  I made the point that if you spend your coffee money on bitcoin for a month or two you could end up with 10-20 of them at little cost, but few people did it.

Truth be told my parents are very poor in terms of technology and they are very little familiar with internet world. so they didn't know anything about Bitcoin and didn't understand that I asked them for some money and what I would do with that money, I dared to say that I would invest some money in Bitcoin. they laughed. So I didn't try to convince them anymore because I know I won't be able to convince them. my parents don't know about bitcoin don't invest in bitcoin but my kids can say that my parents invest in bitcoin, use bitcoin and know about bitcoin he he he....

Convincing parents in terms of technology today is not an easy thing we can do and it is very unlikely that we will succeed in convincing them about crypto, because they are very comfortable with investing in real assets that they have known for a long time and it would be better for them We don't invite them to this risky investment which makes them anxious when they experience failure in the assets they invest in.
What you did was very good, because you didn't force your parents to invest with high risks if they invested and didn't understand it well and you preferred to focus on your own goals so as not to make mistakes in the investments they made.

even an older brother actually is not easy to make them invest in something they do not understand.

the easiest to do it is to let them buy from you with a huge discount. i tried installing a local wallet on my brother's phone just so he could try it out. but as long as they find it not useful to their life, they will not use the app either. they likely use the weather forecast app rather than using the Bitcoin wallet i installed. just means the old generation is not interested, i guess less stress for them.

Nope,. they arent that interested and they are close minded whenever you do mentioned into them about online stuffs and other potential investment. They are really that die hard
fans of those traditional investment like real estate or those physial real world business on which it isnt really that bad but knowing that there are other opportunities that could be found online
then it wont really be that something worth to test on. On the moment that they had that made out such rejection or showing no interest with Bitcoin or crypto investment then i didnt bother
myself on making some explaination to them but instead i do focus on my own and make money on my own.

It might really that sounds too selfish but this is how things works on which if you dont find yourself that being that wise on dealing up with things whether traditional or online opprotunities
then you wont be finding yourself on having that kind of success. We would really be diving any money making opportunities and this is whats important. There are really just that
people who are really that closing up their minds into those new opportunities on which they arent wary that it is really indeed possible.

My mum doesn't know anything about crypto but supports me to invest. She would say, "as long as it's not something that will rub you off your money, then it's fine. " I have not really discuss crypto with my dad but I think he has a little knowledge about crypto and has never ask me anything related to crypto anyday. My dad sees a lot of stuff I post about Bitcoin on my social media account and he barely ask what it is and that's because he is already aware but doesn't just give a fuck to ask.

bitcoin is one of the mega investment on earth right now if for example your parents accumulative bitcoin for you it is investment for you because nobody knows the future of Bitcoin tomorrow it might be that in future that the price of Bitcoin in value will be more advantages than the price of Bitcoin currently so I will appreciate when someone gather or accumulate bitcoin for me because cryptocurrency mostly Bitcoin is going to dominate the world in future reference everyone likes to invest in cryptocurrency because it is a decentralized currency so it is good for me to have investment more in Bitcoin that having a manual business

Nope. I don't think they know anything much related to stocks or finance, so getting them into crypto would be pretty hard. They know I'm doing something stocks-related though since they're aware of how my money just goes to somewhere every month without them knowing lol. Hasn't impacted me that much really, they weren't really that curious about it. My sis does some crypto-related stuff though. Idk anything specific since we don't talk/share about stuff like that though.

None of my relatives or family members don't believe in Bitcoin, even though I've been in the cryptocurrency field for 7 years and I don't have a job. They don't have any interest in knowing what I'm doing. Maybe one time one of my relatives asked me about Bitcoin and if it was okay? He asked me at that time because he said he knew someone who was investing in Bitcoin.

I just told him that if you only know what Bitcoin is and he can understand its concept, for sure he won't need to ask anymore, and he will definitely buy it right away. At that time, the price was around 15k for something of Bitcoin, and he said that it was expensive, so if he asks me again about this matter, I will just tell him that when bitcoin was 15k$, you were in charge, but it will be more expensive now because bitcoin is at 70k$. But if he bought at the time it was 15k$, he would have made x4 profit for sure.

My folks are getting up there in years.  Cryptocurrency adventures rank pretty low on their list of priorities, to put it mildly.  Getting them to wrap their heads around the notion of a digital wallet, much less invest in something as abstract as Bitcoin? That's a war I just don't have the energy to wage. 

They're set in their ways and  and I cant blame them - they came of age long before terms like digital assets entered the lexicon.  Heck, my dad still refers to the remote control as the clicker.  The pace of technological change leaves them dizzy.  To them email might as well be magic.

However, even if older people in some parts of the world understand what BTC is, it would be hard for them to trust it or to buy it, they will most likely call it a scam and stick with older forms of investment that they are used to.

Exactly, unless the older person is already into the digital world and has knowledge of how things online work, if not every one of them sees what's happening on the internet as a scam, I was even told by one of my uncles I lived with that they always see me online and talk about crypto. He always told me that I'm wasting my time online and doing what's not going to be beneficial to me. 
 
Most of them see anything online as a scam, and trying to convince them to invest their money there is just like asking them to throw their money away, which they will never buy. My uncle would rather use the money to buy cigarettes and bottles of seaman dry gin than sit down and empty them than put them on something he doesn't understand.

He sits beside me whenever I'm on my PC at his place... Dammnn!! Man wasn't joking the last time he told me about an altcoin, claiming it could be part of Bitcoin..Lol

He has pretty much a good interest innit; funny enough, he told me about this set of people that claimed to be crypto enthusiasts. They came around and rented one of the most expensive floors on a government residential building in the neighborhood for an office. He paid, got some mentorship and a little bonus in worth of coins before he told me anything. WTF?
Right now, since he's biblophilic too - he's done a good level of reading (with my coaching) and doesn't seem to relinquish.

I will be so brutal but I will say bitcoin isn’t for too older people except they have been in the tech field Long term before. Buying bitcoin or cryptocurrency is just about the money for it but also ways to protect the wallet it stored on are most important. Yes I agree that bitcoin isn’t for just too tech savvy people but also you still need to have that basic knowledge before falling into it.

My biggest concern isn’t even the volatility of price in cryptocurrency, this some of them can handle if you convince them that it is a long term hold thing but the problem is them been their own bank they are easily vulnerable to common simpler phishing attacks like email attacks and can easily lose every thing to scammers which is worse than the price fall we all worry about

My parents know the term bitcoin, but they don't know beyond that. My mother knows it is a kind of investment that grows in value, and at times she used to ask me what the status was, whether it was on a rising path or a falling path. At times she used to say we should've invested earlier because I said about it and regarding the chances of growth years ago. It's been a long time since she asked me about the price and everything. If she comes to know about the present price of bitcoin, surely she'll feel bad for missing out on investing when the price was less than $1000.

No, well, my parents is in the era where they have no interest especially in internet stuff so even they heard or see about bitcoin they didn't attemp or no interest, even though they know that I do crypto currency stuff they dont have anything to say, they neither support or oppose me, its because they have no idea what I'm doing, all they know is that I become independent to them when it comes to financial, in my college days money and allowance is not a problem to be and that's why its okay to them no matter what I do in crypto stuff and also they sometimes taste the rewards that I'm getting in crypto stuff, I sometimes treat them or buy them stuff, and despite all of that they still don't have any interest in bitcoin but it is understandable and it will not affect me investing in crypto currency.

My parents give me maximum help to invest on bitcoin although they don't know much about bitcoin but they help me with capital if I want to invest in bitcoin. But I sometimes try to explain a little bit about Bitcoin to my parents and they are able to take some knowledge about Bitcoin from me. But let's mention one thing since we live in a country where Bitcoin is banned, it is illegal for us to openly discuss Bitcoin in an open place. So I basically kept my parents at home and taught them a little bit about Bitcoin. But the happy thing is that when I want to invest in Bitcoin, my parents are by my side instead of protesting.

No, they are very very far from my reach at the moment but I know that my momma would have encouraged me to invest more if it is something that will be of benefit to me in the future, but for my dad, he would have suggested I use the money meant for the investment to get a wife 😂 😂 😂 because the dude was so eager to see me his grand children from me before going to joining his ancestors but unfortunately, I lost my parents in the cold hands of death a long time ago.

I guess it makes sense: Millennials and Gen Z are in slightly different phases or their lives but they have a couple of things in common: they understand technology better then the previous generations and they are still in that age window that allows you to 1) have money 2) take some risks. The other generations may be too old to invest in high risk assets and the newer generations may have no money saved for investments.

Just a few weeks ago that I was in to a Bitcoin so am just trying to hold on for a little bit to learn more from high rank leaders, educated more about Bitcoin investment thread.

Well for me to convince my father  to invest in Bitcoin I believe that he will going to like my way to invest.
But mum she doesn't know anything about modern facility.

My parent heard about bitcoin when it was still in its early age but due to their lack of knowledge in technological development and lack of computer knowledge, anything originating from the internet is termed as scammed and they’re scared of it and don’t even want to engage in anything like that. Fast forward to today when everyone now knows what bitcoin is, they don’t have that kind of money or even savings that enable get any and keep in a portfolio, they only had they knew, they could have bought some earlier because with this current price of them, they can only imagine it but can’t afford it anymore. They don’t ask about my choice of keeping them because they still feel sceptical about them even when they know it’s legit. The government is still making it looks some kind of a big deal not to engage in, so they are not still fully comfortable with it and even if they do, they can only imagine it but can’t be part of again.
