I don't think vertcoin will be asic-resistant for long, the time untill the next N-factor is too long IMO.

No new coins will be released with scrypt i'm guessing. Already every thread is riddled with talks of switching to x11 , qrk, heavycoin algos.

lTC and Doge...hmmm well i think doge will have to move to new algos suitable for continued gpu mining. I don't see most of the youngsters mining that and making up the strength of the community wanting to blow 10k on asics ... without the youngsters involved doge is going to start sinking. Their young energetic community is their key to success. The asic game is kind of more a pay up front kind of scheme where you gain over time, where as gpu mining is kind of use my "computers" and hope mum and dad don't notice the electricity bill for a few months. Young people often don't have huge cash to pay up front so gpu mining on a fair playing field against other gpu miners will suit them best. They won't appreciate though gpu mining against people with 600MH paying less electricity also Smiley

LTC could possibly stay scrypt and other coins merge mine with it i guess. LTC miners the big ones anyway are probably more established and have access to pots of cash for asics.

The rest will move to other algos.

I see already some members displaying some huge scrypt power..... these with 200MH scrypt already will certainly get roi but asics will either have to get more and more powerful or way cheaper it then will become a more risky decision in ploughing money into asics.

Well so much for the old claim that what is so great about GPUs is you can sell them to gamers when something more efficient comes along.

Surely anyone who has enough GPUs to seriously mine/secure a blockchain has more than enough to sell them to gamers and buy more-efficient ASICs instead?

How much money do you make per amp of mains coming into your building using various types of mining rigs, especially in warm seasons, counting air-conditioning?
