Do we really need the gender option in our profile page?

It's an anonymous forum...mostly. Some people were tricked into uploading their identity cards a few years ago by theymos during April Fools, but that's another discussion.
Anyone can be or pretend to by anything they want on the internet. I don't care what gender someone else is here or what pronouns they use. Keep your he/she/they/them to yourself if you ask me.

In my own opinion I don’t really think this gender of a thing is really important, because in this space I will I think it doesn’t add anything to us, if it was so important I think the administrators would have done that to apply that as options

I think you might have missed it, but gender option is already available on the profile page.

To me gender option on a user's profile page isn't necessary anyway,but I've seen users on this forum that don't keep their gender private on their gender option here on Bitcointalk.Irrespective of a user's gender,I think their posts and opinions should be regarded except the user is going offtrack.Personally,I wouldn't want my gender identity to be known on this forum, reasons are best known to me,and I'm happy it isn't mandatory to identify by your gender on this forum.In my own opinion,every user that have been identified by their gender on their profile page should be respected,most especially the woman.

I like the way you hit it hard, everybody should keep their identity to themselves as nobody gives a thought of who they are. This is an anonymous platform so it should reciprocate it's goals and not deviate. In as much as there is freedom here, if anyone wants to reveal themselves, it's their own cup of tea to take not mine. In the internet anyone can pretend to be whatever they are and you can not tell whom you are onto while engaging with them online till you meet with them one on one.
