It's getting ridiculous. Well, maybe eventually you will notice that liberal dictocracy is far worse than anything.

What do you call liberal ?

Anyway even if i'm not a progressive i prefer live in some progressive western country rather than in the failed rest of the world. Better condition of live and more liberty.

And without the west way of thinking about freedom this website would not exist and the world would be in the same shit than few century ago.

Yes, let's accuse more people of "terrorism". That War on Terror we had really worked out in our favor, didn't it? Iraq and Afghanistan are in such better shape now after we bombed the fuck out of them and killed hundreds of thousands of their civilians! And don't forget all that depleted uranium we used over there, certain populations in Iraq now have permanent mutations and birth defects that are not seen anywhere else in the world.

My bad! Can't read vertical texts. Cheesy

But nevertheless, if I'm not mistaken, about half of the increase in the world GDP during the last century is not due to productivity gains but thanks to increases in human lifespan. Don't know if this information is correct (and to what degree), but it is beyond any doubt that humans today live much longer than they lived even 100 years ago.

It's annual GDP per capita... Try again.

Try again what? Per capita here refers to all living humans (including old men and infants), right?

Michael Fallon, who was promoted by David Cameron on Tuesday, accused Russia of “sponsored terrorism” in supporting pro-Moscow separatists, who have been accused of bringing down the Malaysian Airlines jet carrying 298 people.#

David Cameron, the guy of "If you want to see porn, you have to ask permission. We censor everything we want, both legal and illegal things.".  What a hypocrite.

As for sponsoring violence.. both Europe/US and Russia are sponsoring violence and in effect destroying the Ukraine. I think many people in the eastern part of the Ukraine wants to be part of helped by Russia, the same for the US. In the long term, the people won't have a good economy if this continues though. A mass debt from IMF and crappy economic sancations..  the people of the Ukraine will get less free.

I don't deny the gains in productivity in the last century, but you should understand that GDP per capita is also in direct proportion to the productive years of men (and yes, even an annual GDP per capita), which have increased significantly during the same period of time.

GDP has increased, but so has the debt. Part of the reason the wages kept rising is using paid money of the future..
Of course there were other reasons, but this could be a major contributor.

I don't think that hundreds of thousands of civilians were killed, I doubt it was even thousands of citizens. This is especially the case for Iraq as the country more or less fell peacefully but soldiers would attack after the country fell.

Why are you discussing GDP when the real question is far away? Putin is not saint, everyone knows that. He is sponsoring Ukrainian Rebeliants that is for sure and the most believable scenario is that they shoot down that plane...

Even though people are living longer they tend to retire at the same age. People have also been retiring at earlier ages in recent years. When someone retires they are not producing any goods or services (what GDP measures)

I think generally politicians should not be making such comments until the investigation has been conducted. I don't understand what Russia has to do with it anyway? And separatists, even if they are involved in it, have so far co-operated with everybody there and sent the black boxes to the investigators.

Cause your view on economics define most of your view on politics. If you are against cronyism, you can't support Russia.
