theymos, I just ran into the 10 PM's per hour limit, would you update that to a larger number for people with a high amount of posts?
That is not possible. It is evidently a limitation of the forum software. many have asked. Admin option. It can be changed.

Right. I could change the code like I did for this "last posting from your IP" thing. I probably will at some point.

Early today while switching from one account to post with another, I saw for the first time that posting from my IP I must wait 360 seconds. I was thinking about copying and pasting it somewhere, but chose not to, but now wish I did if I knew this thread existed.

I think 6 minutes is waaaaay too long. One minute would be a good spot.

I always copy into the clipboard prior to posting. Have had to retype messages too many times.

When you say "form data" are you talking about the content of posts and PMs? I use Chrome and I've never had a problem with losing content if I hit the back button.
Yeah. Form data is lost with Firefox and IE when you hit the back button. I think this is the default behavior with HTTPS sites. If the forum says you need to wait to post etc, it gives you a little back button hyperlink which preserves what you wrote in the form on the previous page. If you just click your browsers back button then it gets cleared.

I don't mind the wait, I understand it, but I do have a problem when somebody replies to the topic while you're entering your comment. Then it shows the "you might want to review bla bla bla" screen if you click the Post button, I quickly check what has been said and want to click again on Post but then I also get the message. So the first click on Post counts towards the counter even though nothing was actually posted? Or am I doing it wrong?

It's under look and layout and you check the box "Don't warn on new replies made while posting." if you want to disable it. As far as I'm aware only personal messages, posting and logging in count towards the cool down you are experiencing.

Well... not the answer I was looking for because I actually like that warning, but ok, it's a solution

If you haven't waited the full 6 minutes before you post it will though.

I have made no posts today and got the message The last posting from your IP was less than 360 seconds ago. Please try again later.
i also couldn't search as it told me i had to wait, and yet i had literally just logged in.. Cache issue perhaps server side?

Logging in itself also resets the clock, even though it's not actually your 'last posting'. You better read post #32 here again if you still have question.

Logging in apparantly does nothing. Whatever I do I still get the same stupid message and I can't reply to someone I had a private conversation with. This just sucks !

yeah man keep happening with me all the time while doing multiple pm at a time also when you are reading someone's offer and you reply on thread and same time you got a query on your ongoing thread and you can't revert it instantly is the most irritating situation for this !!

I think your other account was a newbie or so. Newbie accounts need a 360 second gap between posts.

No longer active on bitcointalk, however, you can still reach me via PMs if needed.
