Please do something to have more players here. One freeroll will be good sometimes. regards
Freerolls won't help , bitcoinpoker used to have some nice freerolls , but that didn't attract new players more freerolls for this site atm will make them lose more and more , sadly it's a problem with most of btc poker sites As a freeroller myself, I have to agree with this. I've seen sites with hundreds of players online and zero cash games, with people only ever doing freerolls. So while it attracts more players, they aren't necessarily the ones you want. Having 500k players means nothing if everyone is just playing free tournaments and not doing anything to contribute to the site financially.

Without lowering any respect, this seem to be not feasible anymore. As already been stated by the owner that they are currently on the brink of falling which means that having freerolls will only means giving aways free money that currently they are needing to continue this site's operation, Beside you should note that freerolls only attract freerolls lurker and not the ring games player, to be able to survive the house must gain some revenue from rake
-snip- Instead of pure freerolls, perhaps its better to them to provide freeroll that requires some rakes to join the freeroll (sorry to say, like on LuckyFlop). That wont be the solution for this either. Luckyflop has done this thing however the number of ring players there isnt alot either , another example will be turntripspoker that did the same thing however they get the same result ( I mean no intention for cross advertising , just making some example ) . Without lowering any respect (again) the site has fallen to the brink of almost closure and there is slightly chance for the chance to comeback. Poker site is pretty much hard to advertise ( this is a fact though )

Actually, I agree completely. If a new owner comes in with a new plan then perhaps all will win. The old owner for getting things started and hopefully getting a good price on a sale. The new owner for hopefully doing a successful follow-up/reboot. And all of us for having a browser-accessible, cross-platform bitcoin poker site. It could be great!

It never got sold, as far as I know. The listing ended 30 days ago without being completed (never hit the reserve). I wonder how much they're looking to sell it for, and what its current debts are.

Read the last few pages here. The site has no freerolls at the moment and it is somewhat in limbo as a whole.

you should read the previous comments , freerolls isn't an option when the site is not making profit if we want the poker market to be bigger we should all start to put some coins in poker sites and forget about the freerolls cause most of the poker sites these days seem broke and can't afford to make freerolls we should generate some rake

this site had quite nice freerolls but they we're just made to bring freebies. 24/7 same players playing it (even some won it noone sit on ring and played on tables) that's why i didnt play those freerolls. but every poker site need to have some kind of freerolls but this ones we're not it. loyalty for players who deposit and play are the one poker sites should reward and not freebies. so making some freerolls for players on ring or some bonus deposit or some rakeback is what site should have. all else will not attract real players it will only attract freebies. regards. -Katerniko1

The issue isn't the fact that it's just a poker site, it deals more with the software being used and a lack of advertising. Major poker sites in the fiat world are spending tens of thousands a month on advertising. You can't just release something on these forums and hope for the best -- it isn't going to be seen by many people. You also need to separate yourself from the competition.

Didn't they tried all that? Sig campaigns, Marketing, Promotions.. And they ran the Freerolls for the longest amount of time but it didn't work and I think the problem is that there is a serious lack of BTC players who want to play Poker with their own money.

I have the feeling they were chasing the wrong venues with marketing. Marketing is 100% about who you're marketing to and how you're going about it -- if you are new to it and have no idea what you're doing, you're literally throwing money away since you won't get any benefit.

You also need to separate yourself from the competition. sorry, I didn't wanna say swc has a casino, LOL, why swc doesn't need casino to get profits? The answer is simple, it is an old and famous site, early bitcoin adopters who love poker like playing there. I just concentrated on the new sites like bitcoinpoker.gg, they need to learn from those sites have casinos cause they are not old and famous in the community. i just wanna say if the sites don't have good traffic like betcoin(3k-6k daily active players), swc(200 daily active players), they need to run a casino to have revenue so that can run freerolls to attract new players in the long term, like bitcasino, luckyflop.

I think you're right that they may have been a bit naieve about what it takes to get something off the ground and running. It does seem a little like they though that the quality of their site and an open line of communication on the forums would be enough---it's kinda a shame that it's not enough, really. But in the end, I think you're right that they seem to have underestimated the difficulty and the crucialness of doing successful marketing. Still, the site quality was good. It's a shame it didn't take off.

I would not say they were naive. It is just that both the market and 'competitive landscape' have been shifting dramatically in the short period they have been operating. When SWC ran into legal issues there were about 15 new bitcoin poker sites that all simultaneously tried to fill the gap, when there is really only room for about 3-4 at most. Among those 3-4 SWC and Betcoin are firmly entrenched. So you are looking at +10 new sites competing to be the other survivor. Bitspoker is doing well enough (I hear) ... Bitcasino and Nitrogen are surviving due to their casinos. So, there really isn't any room for someone else at the moment unless they want to displace one of these relative 'incumbents.' Bitcoinpoker.gg was a fine operation, but just didn't have anything other than freeroll chips with which to try and draw players away.

I think if a site were to treat their business like an actual business, it'd go a lot better. But that also takes money.

I dont know what is going on but without freerolls you dont go anywhere. You must have freerolls to bring players at your site. It could be one per week.
