When did you first hear about Bitcoin?

For me it was 2013 when it was worth just above 1000$ seeing how the value had gone from under 1$ to over 1000$ was just so amazing, I though it would just increase more and more
Anyway i'm really glad i started using it, so when did you first hear about Bitcoin and what did you think about it?

Heard about it in 2011 but entered the year after and I'm still regretting the late choice

I've heard about in quite a long time ago actually. I've heard of it in 2010 and I only jumped on the train in 2011. After 2011, I completely forgot about it until I got reunited with my wallet at the end of 2012 when I was cleaning up my externals - boy, was I happy when I looked at the balance, I was going to do a full format on the drive, thank god I didn't - After the reunion, I joined the forum in 2013. I always read over the forums, I never thought to myself that I would sign up. I'm not really a talker.

For me i heard about it in 2012 but never paid much attention to it until i see a friend use silkroad and that totally amazed me to the point i had to learn more, i am a little gutted i never tried to learn more when i first heard about it but the old saying is true better late than never.  So op did you buy in at $1000? That must hurt if you did at least you are still here. I love bitcoin and i won't be going anywhere now

I first learned of bitcoin at the beginning of 2014. At that time, I was browsing in my friend's blog, I saw an ad about bitcoin, and then I asked him.

In 2011, my internet friend told me he developed a BTC wallet in IOS systam, but Apple rejected his wallet application because Apple is against BTC relevant apps, especially wallets.

I'm regret I didn't buy BTC at that time, I could buy a shit tons(1K+) of BTC, but I didn't. I even doubt BTC could be non-sense.

And in early of 2013, BTC went up significantly, I bought some, about 100USD. After that, it went to 265 USD, and went down to 50 USD in a week.

I'm pretty sure I saw one or more brief mentions of bitcoin in the 2011-2012 timeframe, probably in articles in geek/computer news sites like Wired or something similar. But only brief references that made no impression at the time. After Christmas 2013 I was pondering the characteristics of fiat currency (and the dollar in particular), brainstorming about how it could be improved upon, and at that point the headlines about bitcoin topping $1000 forced their way into my consciousness. I realized bitcoin could be very much the sort of thing I was envisioning as a superior alternative to fiat, so I started looking into it, made some comparative assessments, and within a few weeks was mining altcoins and jumping into crypto.
