When did you first hear about Bitcoin?

I heard about it the summer of 2011 when it hit its $30 bubble. I was confused as hell by wtf it was for a good 2 weeks, then started mining w/ a single gpu and learning and every day since then continued to be in awe of its utility and whoever designed it!

It wasn't until about 2013 that I saw news about the massive rise in price for a Bitcoin. That was the point. I looked into Bitcoin and was interested. Then, I stopped early 2014, because I was thinking: I can't make a profit. No point for me. So I stopped. I just got back into Bitcoin again just about 2 weeks ago.

Ouch if i heard about it in 2010 i would likely be financially safe in my early 20's which would have been lovely but instead i got here late 2013 and if it was not for trading and doing my thing i would be down a fortune but as it goes i am up a little but could only imagine 'what if' 2010 thousands and thousands of coins and never sell them all   

I got into when a friend was looking for crap on silkroad and i watched him and could not believe what i was seeing able to get all that in one place did make me laugh and also very curious how it would work so i did and i was hooked, (on the tech) been here since trying to learn and earn as much as i can.

I heard it from my friends who accept Bitcoin as payment 1 year ago while bitcoin is hitting around $400 I think, I know I'm late for the party.
Thanks to faucet who let me play with their bitcoins at first, now I understand how Bitcoin works

I first heard about bitcoin when it was seeing a lot of media buzz at around the 1200 dollar price range... however, i actually invested in bitcoin much later than when i first heard about it.

About 2010, and every time I saw it in a news article or some message board posts somewhere about it kept rolling my eyes, thinking "Yeah, Whatever. Doubt it'll go nowhere." Then I bought my first miner in September 2014. Missed the boat the first time around... hopefully I didn't miss the only boat.

I heard of bitcoin while making money online with Liberty Reserve. I were not interested in Bitcoin. I remember that there is the site which give 0.1 BTC as a salary for post 5 ads everyday within 5 months. After 5 months post ads they will pay 0.1 BTC. prices of BTC at those days about 100-110 USD

For me it was 2013 when it was worth just above 1000$ seeing how the value had gone from under 1$ to over 1000$ was just so amazing, I though it would just increase more and more
Anyway i'm really glad i started using it, so when did you first hear about Bitcoin and what did you think about it?

i hear bitcoin from my friends on facebook last year.
he's posting that we can make money from bitcoin, so i look after it on his blog.
and after i know, i can make money from bitcoin, i look more information about what is bitcoin. and i really love it.
the idea and the concept is very good.

When it was $10...
Didn't buy in because I thought I had already missed the bitcoin train.
That same year I got into Gold mining and bought a claim, did good, paid for itself the first year.
A few years later, in 2013, sold my mining claim to buy mining hardware as Mt. Gox was crashing.
Next year, I will be going back to Gold mining but will also have a bitcoin mine.
Today I mine Bitcoin, E-Mark and DigiByte for an investment.
