Is anyone else happier with a stable price than with UP UP UP DOWN DOWN DOWN all the time?
Stable price= Good for Bitcoin, UP UP DOWN DOWN= Good for me. I'm fine with either.  |

Just a minor fluke... We will see stuff come January. Bitcoin is going to be worth more once reward halves, and mining (ASIC) becomes easier.

I think it was Warren Buffet who said that an intelligent investor is a realist who buys underpriced assets from the pessimists and sells them to the optimists for a higher price.
Yes, GLBSE crashed, so what? Some people will possibly lose money (again!) and some might find it slightly harder to earn funding for their bitcoin related businesses, but other than that, nothing important happened. GLBSE isn't the NYSE or NASDAQ. It is not the main ground for bitcoin investors and enterprises. They mainly meet on forums, IRC and the like.
I sold my bitcoins before the BFL scandal and bought them again today, because there is no fundamental reason why bitcoin's value (value =/= price !!!) should diminish. The market isn't going to shrink, because no bitcoin business is going to lose its funding due to GLBSE crash (except for GLBSE itself).

This rally makes me sad... I wanted 6 dollar coins. I'm still holding out for a chance to get my next purchase in in the mid $1.xx's. Although entirely possible, it does not seem imminent enough to me at this point to risk any funds sitting at an exchange. It is also quite possible that we get on a ramp up that never really turns around and anyone waiting for a bargain will be left out. It would suck big-time to have known of Bitcoin but have failed to get a foot in the door anyway. If Bitcoin takes off, that is. |
