Some bitcoin enthusiasts in taiwan are now starting their own place called the Bitcoin House Taiwan and are looking for new tenants.

The Bitcoin House Taiwan is located in Kaohsiung in the south of Taiwan.

Taiwan?
Yeah - the small island also called "ilha formosa" or "the beautiful island" right next to china, hongkong and japan.
this is also the country of topmodern smartphones and computers and the place where you can buy bitcoins 24 hours a day in more than 3000 physical convenience stores in taiwan. it is literally impossible to not find a familymart - and there they sell BTC!
i don't know any other country where this is possible yet.

The House
is located on a small island called Cijin near the Kaohsiung Harbour/airport. It is a popular tourist spot and has a nice beach.
The house has been used as a cafe and some rooms were available on airbnb for travellers and long-term stay people.

you can check it on coinmap.org.

Now the place is up for rent again and people can pay first time their rent exclusively in Bitcoin only.

The rent:
... is about 0.6 btc per month - at todays rate (friday, 17th april 2015) - of course this is due to the volatility of bitcoin a "floating" value
this is equivalent to ca. 4000 - 5000 NTD per month including bills depending on the size of the room.

There are 5 rooms in the house to choose from.
The price includes all the bills and you'll get your private room with a window, ceiling fan, double bed, lamp, wifi, and a desk.
The ground floor is a former coffee shop which is now free to use as an office, meeting/exhibition space etc. for all the tenants and their friends.

One first tenant from Germany has showed interest - a freelancer, who does translation and graphic design for bitcoin.

If anyone is interested in taking a part on this BITCOIN project in Taiwan just let me know, or get in touch with Eddie, we can give you more details.

We are also open to new ideas, we support cool innovative projects.

Just propose your idea.

No deposit needed.

Regards,

Edo and Bitcoin House Taiwan team

BTW: WE ARE AWARE THAT THIS PROJECT IS NOT EASY, BUT WE HAVE THE DRIVE AND WILL POWER TO MAKE IT HAPPEN, WE ARE EXCITED ABOUT IT AND WE DO WHAT IT TAKES TO ACCOMPLISH THIS START-UP PROJECT AND YOU ARE WELCOME TO GO ON THIS JOURNEY WITH US.

IF YOUR DREAMS DON’T SCARE YOU, THEY ARE NOT BIG ENOUGH.

You should move this to this section --> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=82.0  .. it's closer to home.  Wink

A suggestion... Stipulate in your post if the 0.6 BTC is per day or week or month. {Your added pictures, does state per week?}

I have stayed in 1 bedroom Hotel rooms for 1 BTC per day. {Paid by my employer} .... even though this does not seem like 5 Star accomodation at that level.  Wink

Is this the going rate for Taiwan? {No external view?}

it is in taiwan not korea Tongue

yep it is per month - most landlords charge per month - it is not a hotel.
the days when you paid 1btc per day are long gone i'd say. (edit: or do you mean you staid in a 250$/night hotel? Tongue)

this house is more than a 5 stars hotel - on a bitcoin scale Cheesy it is +5 startoshis

going rate depends on the city, kaohsiung is cheaper. 5000TWD is cheap for a room. airbnb minimum is 500TWD/day.
