Hy all, i am in the search for a PSU with 9 Volt and 10A output and four times a 6 pin connector. Yes, you are guessing wright, i want to try out the recommended low voltage use in a antminer S5 I would be very glad if you can point out, where to get one of these PSU´s.
Kind regards, elrippo

Don't waste your time, the S5 won't be stable below 11v. Best efficiency I got was 0.44W/GH at the wall at 11.11v, anything below 11v starts but fails after a few minutes or doesn't start at all. At 12v, I was drawing 0.54w/GH with the same PSU. If you are still interested, I'll have a breakout board for this PSU adjustable from 10 to 13.5v via trim pot in a few weeks. Hy, that´s very interesting, since Bitmain states, that the S5 can be modded down with a 9 Volt PSU and at least 10A... https://bitmaintech.com/productDetail.htm?pid=00020141222080420665NM851L7d060DSo then i suppose bitmain either doesn´t know what they are writing, or this is just a teaser from bitmain without a function

Yes i noticed that, and that was a bit confusing... But ok, let´s wait for the next Type, maybe it will have chips and control designed to run with 9 Volt and less then 10A each board

I received some busted S5s last week, and when I have some downtime on the Compac project (while waiting for prototype boards to come in) I'll probably be back onto my inline regulator project. If I can find an S5 board among the pile that still works, I'll do some testing on low-volt and see what in the design is the failure point. I suspect the clock signal is being compressed too much by the level shifter and when the voltages move around it's not hitting thresholds. If I can find a straightforward fix to get them going at lower voltage I'll post about it.

Where did you get broken S5's from? Would love to take a crack at one of those!

But if you could run 4 boards on the controller and figure how to get 10 volts to work with 2.2th hashing it would be a nice machine. 10/12 = 83% 22/23 = 96% So 83% power with 96% hash translates to 0.45 watts a gh if you get it to do 9 volts it is 0.4 watts a gh, both very good for a 2th machine. Sidehack is now getting a best number of .32 watts a gh on some of his 1 chip settings. see his threah.

MD5: D0525C428E205C2471AB554CF95D77D3 the older software does. So hopefully if you have older broken gear it has the older software. I never do new bitmaintech firmware updates due to the difficulty new firmware can cause. plus they make it hard to go back to older firmware.
