I tried looking for him awhile back, then just gave up. Just a few minutes ago, I stumbled across a major clue that everyone seems to have overlooked. Now that I know who it is, I want to get some opinions from you guys:
He's put a great deal of time into hiding his identity. Even though some of us want to know who he is, he wouldn't be safe anymore. Governments and whatever the hell might want to take him out, or something to ruin Bitcoin. I mean, that's why he's been hiding, right?
Would it be wrong of me to disclose who he is? I guess I can't give clues either. Actually, not really sure why I'm starting this thread. Just kinda excited that I found him.
So what do I do? Just keep my mouth shut?
He deserves his anonymity and I think we should respect it. Edit: Governments cant kill bitcoin by taking satoshi out.

Should have thought of that before I started the thread. But I could just BS and say it's Bill Clinton that started Bitcoin. I haven't divulged my method of finding him, so I could say I think it's anyone. Except Bill Clinton, now that you've publicly stated that that would be BS.

This seems unlikely...
But if true, it probably hardly matters, since other people in the long stretch of time will likely stumble over the same "clue".
Unless you are the only person with access to this "clue", in which case:
- Let Satoshi know you found him, so he can improve his anonymity in the future - Destroy the clue - Don't tell

It'd be great if you could provide proof that you know who Satoshi is, without disclaiming his/her identity. I can't think of any way to do this, though.
Without that proof, I think everyone will just see you as some guy seeking attention... even if there's no way to get such proof.

Are you sure your clue has been overlooked? There has been a lot written about this. There is such a small number of candidates, I'm sure the name has been mentioned on this forum. Spill it gumshoe.

he could encode it symmetrically and some day in the future, when the identity is revealed, he can post the key and we can decode it to verify. $ echo "the name of satoshi is blah blah" | gpg -ach

So what do I do? Just keep my mouth shut?
Easy. Ask him. Just because he knows who is him/her, that doesn't mean he knows how to contact the person in question, at least in a private/secure manner.
