everyone dumps it for something more exciting.

Lets hope they do so I can buy it up.
Read a few posts back, this is not something serious investors are going to dump right away.
Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

Only a few hundred block remain in the distribution phase.

This is a POS + POW coin. So the distribution will never ends

block 0-100 = 0 UNIT
block 101-210000 = 100 UNIT
block 210001-n =  5 UNIT

Yes, the 5 UNIT per block is the inflationary phase, pretty much nothing.

PHP?

Any opposition to doing it in node.js?  Ether way, I have skills in both and would help with the site.

Looks like the reward is still 100 coins per block on suprnova
unit.suprnova.cc and the same for ispace.co.uk mining pool

The OP seems to be off by about 100 blocks

Code:
        else if(pindexBest->nHeight+1 >= 101  && pindexBest->nHeight+1 <= 210101)
    {
        nSubsidy = 100 * COIN;
    }
        else if(pindexBest->nHeight+1 >= 210102)
    {
        nSubsidy = 5 * COIN;
    }

Still however, PoW generated less than half the expected amount of coins.  So what we have here is a blockchain with less than half the money supply of Peercoin's with a little less inflation than Peercoin.

UNIT:
PoW Reward: 5  every minute

Code:
[moneysupply] => 10156144.353011

PPC:
PoW Reward: currently at 70 -80 every 10 minutes

Code:
[moneysupply] => 22458348.307976

Wow, I should have bought more of this...

The other half of the blocks were solved with POS and those POS blocks had a smaller reward.

I guess it makes sense it was done this way since the first 100 blocks had 0 zero reward.

I was browsing the blockchain and noticed an address with a negative balance.  Is that a bug in the blockchain explorer or something else?

So what was the issue?  The top transactions all look the same.

It was likely a bug in the block explorer.  It's impossible to have an actual negative value on the block chain.
