The block chain is the main innovation of Bitcoin. It is the first distributed timestamping system.

I have traded it a bit, and last night, I have made back my initial investment. This means that I'm currently on a free roll with all the remaining coins I have. So I can stay completely calm while seeing where this goes. Smiley

Looks like you guys are struggling with the syncing. I made a new bootstrap.dat file up to block 6447. The link is in the post with the Raspberry Pi instructions. There is also a untarred version to make it easy for the Windows users. Just copy the bootstrap.dat file into directory where your wallet file is and run the wallet client.

I am working on getting us a web wallet currently. Encrypted messaging and tor are confirmed.   Grin Shocked Cool

Much more to come. This is just the beginning of XMS.

I understand a large potion of the crypto community is very short-sighted. Though I believe through constant development and upgrades to XMS we WILL overcome this!

Suprnova, CryptoBE and C-Cex all seem to be on different forks..

Right at the moment:
C-Cex shows the last block is 6541.
CryptoBE shows the last block is 5703.
Suprnova explorer shows the last block is 5984.

See
https://c-cex.com/?p=xms-btc
http://cryptobe.com/chain/MegaStakeCoin
http://blocks.suprnova.cc:7478/chain/X11PosChain?count=20

Which one is correct? Dev, this needs to be resolved urgently!

Even the "big guys" often look out for coins with potential. I mean, who would invest in a coin which does not make progress? For that reason, I think regular updates and improvements are indeed necessary.
I'm curious where this goes! Smiley

If Bittrex is on the same fork as C-cex, then this should be the correct one. Sending between both exchanges worked, just recently.

C-Cex / Bittrex are on the correct new v1.2.0.0 chain
CryptoBE have yet to update
Suprnova are not, OCminer will probably close the pool soon anyway, but not before coins are moved off successfully on the new chain.

I had similar problems from time to time with other coins (BTC, LTC). I don't know if that's the case with yours, but for me, this occurred when I managed the private keys for the same wallet on different machines, e.g. for Bitcoin managing the Mycelium wallet on my mobile and the bitcoin-qt on my notebook, or in the case of XMS, maybe running the official wallet plus the RaspberryPi one using the same private keys.

My guess is that this is due to how transactions are done: for every transaction, you have an output of the amount you're sending, plus the remaining amount of coins you have in your wallet. Those are sent to an internally generated, new address which "resolves" to your local wallet.
If you now have two wallets using the same private keys, the one you didn't send from doesn't know about the private keys of the newly generated address, thus showing a mismatch in values.

But nothing gets lost in this process, which is why the -rescan option corrects the mismatch.

I don't know if that's 100% true what I said, but it sounds as if it could make sense. Would be nice if anyone could confirm or correct what I stated. Smiley

I withdrew my coins from OC's pool, now they have vanished, obviously due to the fork, is there anyway to get them back?

I withdrew my coins from OC's pool, now they have vanished, obviously due to the fork, is there anyway to get them back?

It depends if they were mined on the correct fork. All coins mined on an incorrect fork will have been wasted hash and the coins lost as there will be no accounting entry on the correct block chain crediting you with the coins. All coins mined on the correct fork but sent on an incorrect fork will still exist on the correct fork. As soon as the fork is corrected those coins will be back.

Read this and then I hope you understand the principle. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1040090.msg11244483#msg11244483
