Anyone can set up a go fund me campaign and pretend to be anyone they want.

Anything related to Silkroad is a hot potato and people would think twice to donate, if they not sure that the money is going to someone who is innocent and a real victim.

I happen to know the family pretty well (i dated his Daughter a few years ago). tonya, his wife set it up. She actually tried to get it going a few days ago. but if you look at the family picture she used and look at her facebook which she posted it on, i think, you will see that they are the same person . I believe she posted it on her facebook.  she has never had any experience with gofund me. how can i get her to prove its legit?

The whole thing sounds suspicious, yea the DEA guys were scum but after googling Curtis green's name it comes up that he is "self-proclaimed former heroin addict". Yet your add says he has never touched or injested a sched 1 substance, the whole thing sounds fishy. I imagine he wasn't a mod for free. From what I understand. a check bounced and when that happens, all the banks talk to each other and you cant open an account until the bounced check has been taken care of.  with all the fees associated, it took a while to get it cleared up, hence they didn't have a bank account. Where else are you going to store your paychecks, on top of that, he just received about 10k in back taxes that were owed,  just a few days before all this happened.

Im not going to donate for the sake of curtis, but for the sake of his family. they didn't deserve any of this. Also, not too many people know this, but there  were other people that control of the forum account.

She can leave a comment to the campaign with the facebook account you're talking about.

She just texted  me that she posted a comment. hope that will satisfy the disbelievers. Thats okay if you dont donate, thats your choice. but I think most peoples attitude would change if they knew the whole story. I really feel bad for his family. Tonya will be posting a video or picture holding up the bitcoin  address soon.

Call me naive, but I believe Curtis when he stated he has never sold drugs. Just because its posted on a forum doesn't make it true. if you believe everything you read, your in trouble. BTW, I asked him who posted it, and it was a new vendor by the name of pharmville, he used his account until he established one for himself (it had pharm in the name somewhere, lol)

Good grief?  Don't you understand how easy it would be for a scammer to take a public photo and a public name and create a fake listing?

Update:  OP PMed me to email her at an anonymous gmail address. (Like I was born yesterday)    I'm waiting for her to contact me on Facebook from her Facebook page.  I have given the OP instructions on how she can do this.

If you go to the fundme page, there is a share from facebook with her picture on it. (at the bottom where there is a picture of tonya and a little quote) at least i can see it...  Hopefully tonya just send a friend reguest to VOD, so i hope we can put this to rest, lol..

Also, I've been a member here since 2011, i forgot my log in credentials and had to open a new account in 2012, ive sold many bitcoin miners and feel that im trusted. Now, I can see if i was a noob or someone that hasn't been here as long as I have. I was one of the first people to buy a mini rig from BFL, and one of the first to get scammed, lol...

Tonya Heaps Green contacted me via Facebook.  The picture on the FB account is the same as the GoFundMe campaign.  She has over 250 FB friends and posts from 2014.

Looks like this is legit so I apologize to the OP.  There are a lot of scams going around so one has to be careful.

A word of advice:  Don't make your initial post with phrases like "I just noticed" if you were aware of the campaign to begin with.  Throws up a red flag.
