This decision in my honest opinion is really a bad decision, because the bitcoin foundation should never be existed. It is a central organization, and bitcoin does not a central org. if some programmers want to help & contribute he should not be paid (but he can receive 'donation' from all the bitcoiners).
I don't really see this is being particularly important. Who cares if they decide to add or remove Satoshi as their "founding member"? Satoshi left the Bitcoin community in early to mid-2011 and the Bitcoin Foundation was created in late 2012. By then, Satoshi had not been seen or heard from for nearly two years. He never asked to become a member nor did he ever have the opportunity to contest his inclusion into the foundation. If his name was to be removed as a founding member, the only real difference would be few less dark pixels on a screen.
Maybe you are right, he has never asked to be a member of the bitcoin foundation but I am still thinking that foundation should not exist.
