I've been in Thailand once, with my girlfriend, which is not Thai. I got shitloads of attention from the Thai women. I would rate the attention I got with that of a beautiful girl walking on the street in any European City.

And that's not because I'm a Calvin Clein model, no I think there are several reasons why Thai women give attention to white men. Many thai women come from poor families, and for many, marrying a Farang (white man) is something that will secure their future, perhaps not in the department of love, but especially in the department of finance.

And also, beauty is a mans appearance is not what all women seek, some women are very attracted to men with great humor, and of course some are attracted to men with money. Some women don't care so much for looks, but goes after the personality. But in Thailand, it seems every back packer finds his girlfriend and dubbs it 'true love'. Little does he know that once he has left the country, she finds a new 'boyfriend'.

For some of the girls, getting gifts and money from their 'boyfriends' is how they make ends meet. We must also realize that due to many white men having a lot of money, and a lot of thai women having very little of it, prostitution is very common in Thailand.

You can go to a go-go bar and meat up with a go-go girl, and I'm sure there's plenty of opportunities to have women delivered to your door as well, as long as you have some cash to pay. I've heard the stories, but never explored it myself, due to my current girlfriend. 

But, as Goat says, the important thing is that they're happy together.

And if you don't believe me, try to go to Thailand yourself, as long as you're a white male, you should get some attention, and if you look above average, the attntion should be plentiful!

She does not find me all that physically attractive (how could she not see it?) but she does very much like my personality.

Yes you can find cute girls in Asia if you have lots of money but you can do the same everywhere. Honestly I'm not sure who has the most money (her family or mine) but it is really not about that. We are pretty happy together and that is all the matters

Of course, Wong Kar-Wei is known for his films, 2046 being one of them. Another film of his, In The Mood For Love, is actually ranked the 24th greatest film ever made (and the best film of the 21st century), as by Sight and Sound's every ten years poll. Can't wait for the Blu-ray, which is coming out in October. I wish a Blu-ray for 2046 would become available.
