I feel that using room temp water is better because warm smoke is smoother compared to cold smoke and in turn you can take bigger tokes without coughing so much.....

It depends, I liked hot water sometimes but I normally went with cool/room temp + ice.

Hot or cold smoking depends on the bong...
If you have a straight chamber with an ice catch - go cold
If you have something with percolators, go warm

The build your own stuff from Hoss glass actually has a chamber with liquid in it you can put in the freezer, like those freeze em mugs, I get really good rips on that with room temp water.

I contemplated having glycerin coils like that custom produced.

yeah percolator.... that's it..... i always start with cold water but it always ends up room temp..... I find the tokes are better when the water is room temp or even warm..... We only smoke outside (garage) and it gets pretty warm out there..
