I'd just like to point out that posting personal threats (even if deliberately vague) is a criminal offense in pretty much every developed country.  Even if the threats are done via an alleged third party 'someone said that they might do X....'

My apologies.  When I said 'you' above, I was referring to a 3rd party in general, not actually you the person.  I'll restate what I said above to be more precise:

I haven't changed my ip, afaik it remains fairly stable.  As to my irc network connection, I use SASL, which is the preferred way of connecting because it auth's you to the network on connecting and it prevents MITM scenarios between the client machine and the irc server.  The TX server is only a coincidence, as I use chat.freenode.net and the dns RR picked that.  I'm sure the next time I ping out, it will be different.
