Good price now 110 sats now.
But is this pnd? Or real interest from potential investor? No latest news?

A lot of Chinese buyers.

Don't forget the cloud is the future. And Sia is just very cheap.

That right, SIA coin is very cheap right now.Last moth it is just 40 - 60 stats and now almost double already and still it continues to grow on an upward trend. It is good to buy and hold this coin as it has more room for growth in the future.

If this is just a pnd I am just fine with it. Because I already sold most of my holdings at 84. This time I will buy more and will try to have higher tp.  Cheesy

Well have you looked around? Everything is going up. Sia is a quality product and their development team is top notch. This is no pnd shitcoin.

this seems true now ...

but in the early days - the seeds were not showing upfront - and the seeds were always lost due to them 'flashing' up without any chance of getting them ...

in the early posts of this thread ( way back ) you will see that i 9 and many others ) posted this issue and taek promptly took that on board and released a newer wallet within weeks ... coins were lost - mining continued and the project become more and more efficient and losing coins due to the 'alpha nature of the project - which was fair enough at that time ...

but i do remember a time when taek released a method of importing wallets ( without the seed - though this is off memory only - so i could be completely wrong here ) into the current wallet to retrieve coins ... either way - if the coins are lost - thats all good and well - but the most recent wallet i have is an old one anyway ... i think this one may have all my coins in it ( after continued mining for weeks at that time when mining was easy - and rewards were good ) ...

so i will give all this a go - and cross my fingers ... as there were a LOT of coins in that wallet ...

tanx for you help ...

#crysx

Oh, I see, I joined this community some months ago, so I didn't know about this "pre-history" of Sia. I am so sorry for you... I would join the Slack of Sia and ask Taek and the rest of the developers about this. They don't check Bitcointalk but they are very active in Slack, maybe he will have some tool or solution for your old wallets

Hey Crysx. I asked Taek about this in Slack and he says there was some problems this week in Slack, so you should be able to make your way in if you keep trying. I guess he prefers to work with the problem directly with you instead of answering in slack and me as a man-in-the-middle :-P

Hi

I have a problem to recover my sia coins with my seed.
I have a backup of my seed, I have installed Sia UI v1.2.1 on my new PC, its 100% synchronized, I use the recover seed button but my wallet now shows 0 SIA :S

I had a very big amount of SIA on my wallet

how to be sure the seed is recovering correctly?

First, check that you are copy/pasting the seed precisely: no extra spaces and no missing characters

Second, just in case I would try to check the balance on a command line instead of the UI, just in case. If you are in Windows:
- Close SiaUI completely (in Windows: Close in the system tray)
- Go to the folder where said.exe is locate. It is going to be in a subfolder of Users/your_name/Appdata/Roaming/Sia/resources
- Open 2 command line terminals
- In the first one type "siad", and wait until the step 6/6 is done
- In the second one, type "siac wallet unlock". It will ask you for your seed. Wait until the fist command line terminal says "Done!"
- Next, in the second terminal type "siac consensus" and check that your blockchain database is fully synchronized
- Finally, in the second terminal type "siac wallet" to check your balance

If both things fail, I would suggest you to go to Slack (siatalk.slack.com/) and ask in the #help channel. Taek and the other devs are very active and I remember one or two people had a similar problem when upgraded to 1.2.0

hi all ...

i found an earlier wallet ( 0.4.x ) - and want to import the wallet into the latest one ( 1.2.1 ) ...

now the previous console command worked for an early wallet using siac wallet load - and it had only a few coins in it unfortunately - but it seems that this 0.4x wallet ( and im only going from memory here ) was the one i was using for the mining ...

the issue here is that the wallet.dat is no where to be found for the import ... all there is in this wallet is the wallet.json file ...

is there a way of importing this wallet.json file into this new 1.2.1 wallet? ...

if so - how? ...

tanx again ...

"Load a wallet from a seed" in gui doesn't work right now. You have to wait for fix or create new wallet with new seed and import your old seed to the new wallet ("Recover Seed" button in the wallet). Now your actual seed should be the newly created (to be sure keep all your seeds).

does anyone know how much data usage the minimum storage contract would use?
Is anyone currently hosting files?

edit: when I say data usage I mean data throughput not local storage defined in the wallet.

I think there might be a bug with the siafunds claiming:

This was the starting wallet balance:

Wallet status:
Encrypted, Unlocked
Confirmed Balance:   17.25 KS
Unconfirmed Delta:  +0 H
Exact:               17245896019595188793410814418 H
Siafunds:            203 SF
Siafund Claims:      16375621065323953466987357103 H

I then sent 1 siafund to myself and when it was unconfirmed:
4f5b6a6827243a5651f3924aa6fc17845fc10943f0d007dbf811f793d540d01c

Wallet status:
Encrypted, Unlocked
Confirmed Balance:   17.25 KS
Unconfirmed Delta:  -10 SC
Exact:               17245896019595188793410814418 H
Siafunds:            203 SF
Siafund Claims:      16375621065323953466987357103 H

when it was confirmed, the SC balance went down and the siafund claims went to 0?

Wallet status:
Encrypted, Unlocked
Confirmed Balance:   17.24 KS
Unconfirmed Delta:  +0 H
Exact:               17235896019595188793410814418 H
Siafunds:            203 SF
Siafund Claims:      0 H

The amount of SC in the claims seemed quite low and getting negative certainly seems like there is some sort of math overflow going on.

using older version of wallet, not sure if that should matter or not. If anybody knows how much SC each siafund should be earning per month, I am curious to know. Hopefully it isnt negative

When you send siafunds the whole balance in the 'siacoin claims' gets drained into your wallet, but it doesn't show up for 144 blocks, it's like mining (block rewards aren't spendable for 144 blocks either)

ok that makes sense.
any estimate of the SC per month per siafund?
it seems on the low side based on what i got
