it is not even 1 year since i have been introduced to bitcoin and i have already lost 1+ btc in gambling with not much profit, as whatever big or less profit i used to get i used to invest it again in gambling.

hey guys you all here are old bitcoin studs, please suggest me how to resist the impulsive nature to not put my money on stake, and how you guys manage to stop at that point when you think that im done and i shouldnt stake much as i will lose everything..

how to feel that point that its enough for today.. Undecided
i have been there my friend. gambling is so addictive specially the thrill of wining big time is worth living for Smiley but you are bound to lose at the end and not have a positive total. if it wasn't this way all those website, casinos , .... would go bankrupt in a week.

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

want to stop gambling then study gambling.

you'll soon realize it is nothing more than a scam.  If the fact that you are only going to lose your money doesn't change your mindset you may have problems that nobody here can solve.

I'm serious about studying these games, actually, as it is enlightening as to how they seduce you into thinking you can win by offering you a win here and there to keep you floating along, losing at a relatively controlled rate, but losing.  Look at the multitudes of simulations that are run over thousands and millions of 'hands' or rounds or whatever and it becomes clear that what they are doing is taking your dollar giving you .90 back, then .80, then .70 and so on, until you're bled as dry as they can bleed you.

the first time I went to Vegas they shook me until my pockets were empty.  Just that ass whuppin was enough for me, as I work for my $$ and throwing it away is about the last thing I am prone to do.

Beyond that what I noticed, was not that others were winning, but that they were losing their money more slowly than I was.  Clearly I was doing something wrong and no surprise as I had virtually no fucking idea what I was doing.  Didn't know the games, didn't know the rules, didn't know the odds.

So I studied casino gaming in a casual sort of way.  Looked at the common games and their odds, and the house advantage.

There is no way to win long term.  Period.

The only game I will play in a casino at this point is blackjack and ONLY if I have reviewed the basic strategy tables beforehand and taken a few hours to practice, otherwise not even that.

learn to count.  it is not as hard as people say it is and at a minimum will force you to learn the game and use basic strategy, which takes the guess work out of it.  this will keep you losing more slowly than otherwise if nothing else.

as to these online BTC casinos, not a chance.  stay away from these scams.

Why people take a risk for being a rich by gambling? Undecided we all know, gambling is not profitable, except you're lucky guy ever. Try another method like trading(although i think slightly different).

If any one comes in here and bashes gamblers that have issues, they really are showing their lack of understanding of how the brain works.

That said I suggest you replace gambling with a more healthy alternative like wallking/Jogging or working out. The cardio aspect will work better here imo than the short amount of time you can actually spend in a gym. Combining them would be way better.

As for the issue you can dwell on it and try to find out why you are this way and quite often its a cycle that never gets to the core of the issue. Look at the success rate of gamblers anonymous or any other group that rehashes the issues and you will see they do not have the highest success rates.
Hollywood has done a good job of misleading and propping up that aspect for a long time.

Your best bet is to figure out how the reward system works in your brain and go from there. Dont beat yourself up and dont get into the poor me,just attack it like a pitbull.

If you honestly believe all of this you should talk to someone or get help.   I fear if you treat your fiat money the same it will end up bad.

Combining gambling and cardio?  No one is going to be able to replace the feeling you get.  For that you need help, no judgement being made.

Also if all you lost in a entire year is 1 BTC... it's hard to say how much of a problem that is.  For if you got a year worth of leisure time for 240'ish dollars it could have been a lot worse.  If you are hurting financially because of gambling yes you need help.

The one BTC a year is not worring (to me personally).  But if it takes over everything in your life I am no expect but I would guess you need help.

I wish I had better advice, but this is not my expertise. I would call one of those gambling helplines and talk to them.

Ask someone to create a paper wallet with Bip32 PASSWORD protection. They should do it in front of you, but you have to look away when they enter the password/phrase.
They then store the password for you, but you keep the private keys.
When you want to buy something, and not gamble it away, they could provide you with the password.
Use someone you can trust, that is the obvious part. They cannot access the coins without the private key any way.
How does that sound?

Just sell all your bitcoin, then delete your browser history so you won't think about bitcoin & gambling again Roll Eyes
Or try trading, you could earn a lot of profit

Don't tell more people to leave bitcoin, we have enough leave already but it is good being to the point and that is one way of dealing with a bitcoin addiction lol The urge would likely still be there and he will gamble more with fiat.

Trading and learning to trade would be good OP because you will love learning the skill if you are anything like me! I truly enjoy it and it is much better than gambling because you are actually getting good at something if you put the effort into it. It will also keep your mind occupied and will be much less likely to want to gamble.

You will also have fun talking to people in the trollbox which is another reason that will help.

Just stop buying bitcoin.
Did you ever gamble online before bitcoin? If so then not buying any wont help because you will just go back to whatever currency you used to gamble with in the past.
Apart from a couple of 0.001BTC bets on Luckybit i dont gamble much myself, cant afford too.
Sorry mate but i got to tell ya that this is not a problem of btc, it's your problem.

It's not a plague. Don't exaggerate. Most people can gamble and have fun and have no problems just like people can drink and smoke and have sex without it damaging their lives, but for some people they have no self-control and it can ruin their lives, but for the most part most people can enjoy all those things in moderation.
