but i was hopping we would not have to do this! addresses should have remain at pm level where is the security and intimacy in this? i wanted to suggest closing and deleting this thread, but now....
Thanks maverick. The reason we're doing it this way is for transparency. Having the BTC address attached to your profile insures that there's no scamming going on. Nobody can inject a fake user with a bogus BTC address this way. Too many times we've all seen people get ripped off because somebody created an account very similar to another. Here we track your user profile (which you can't change) and a BTC address attached to that profile. In all honesty, if I were running this, I'd make you sign a message with that BTC address - an address I can verify by looking at your user profile - quoting a PM from me. Heck, I'd probably make you PGP sign it, too . Here's the updated list: @BitcoinPappi please add a BTC address to your profile. went back and found alternate list there are a few more in pm's to me 11) valkir 12) RoadStress 13) wlefever 14) amerikansjc 15) alh ? 16) stevej 17) page14 ----- btc ----- 136bUrJixL6jKwQM77QAhQhM3PnB5fKK7D----- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=17906918) icey 19) jthor 20) stonerider ----- btc ----- 17um7NrMeK351o9xSpV9poT3png8EpTJLu ----- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile 21) sjc1490 - 12Qwd8VKLQ4xF44ytHXBpCAKuF9VknG4X2 cutting the list 21 is enough.

Heck, I'd probably make you PGP sign it, too . Gosh I just had flash back of me trying to sign a message to Canary for my 15 USB miners, only to find out I could not sign one with the wallet I had sent my 30 BTC from... Had to drive to Chicago and pick up in person yeah if was a safe method but what a p.i.t.a …… I remember canary was doing 20 000 stick orders. He was pretty good at getting the gear to you. This is the easiest way I can figure how to do a safe payout. People don't realize how things can go wrong maverick has a privacy concern that I respect. I wish I could figure a better way, but he can make a new address and transfer once paid. I did not really see the security issue until I had the 49.9 coins in an online blockchain.info wallet. I used a really good password with many copies of it in my home. I was then fuck I owe 9 guys 4.9 btc and I have to just watch the wallet until I can cash and transfer coins out. Next rounds the coins will be secured by ck. and we will distribute them using the list. Much safer method. Sounds like a good plan.

@ jonnybravo0311 thanks
@ BitcoinPappi please let us have a btc addy in profile
@ mavericklm please let us have a btc addy in profile
once we get the first 10
we can make the alt list of 10 and figure whom is passing their turn from the first 10.
My hopes would be to start collecting from the round 4 with 10 players on Tues.
We will use a new collection address for the new round.
about 0.515 btc from 10 people = 5 btc after nicehash fees that will buy one 100th at westhash and four 100th at nicehash.
total 500th for about 23 to 26 hours with floating price. of 0.0095 a th to max of 0.0103 a th not set in stone a little lower or higher is possible
due to pricing including a fixed 100th if price is decent. (rare but it can happen)
Rough odds of your 0.515 btc share winning odds vary a bit if price is lower or higher.
1 block = 5 to 1 2 blocks = 25 to 1 3 blocks = 125 to 1 4 blocks = 625 to 1
ck will provide the address we mine to.
I would mange :
A) the hash rental B) if a round hits a block ck will hold funds and I would setup funds payout with him. C) this is why the list has your forum name and your profile btc addy for payout.
Lastly this is a lot more work then I thought it would be so 1 round per diff adjustment with a max of 2 rounds will be most likely.
I hope to do maybe 10 to 15 runs over the summer.
I would like to alternative my address. As a result i will prefer not to include a Bitcoin address in my profile. I will simply post it publicly when one is requested. For now you can use the one that payment was sent to.

okay I unlocked it. to BitcoinPappi I did a screenshot of a fake you a real me and a real you --- profile wise------ these fake names are killers with payout errors and attempts to steal. I have a copycat of me : phi llipma1957 = fake philipma1957 = real I would be willing for you to put in an addy in the other contact slot of your profile. full size link http://imageshack.com/a/img538/8882/GjZcHE.png

The example above allows you to keep the club payout address only with no other address
The example above allows for you to use your normal btc address as the same as the joint btc address.
The example above allows for you to have 2 btc addresses one for the ckpool and one for normal use

doesn't coinbase have an option to make multiple users confirm the payout to a certain person?
Also I believe in the bitcoin code there is something like that a multi-input option where after a certain group of people confirm, the payment will be sent.
Pretty much a majority wins thing.
I know its just you and ck, but it might make it harder for an address to be compromised.

Multi-signature addresses are what you're describing. Those are addresses that start with a 3. @philipma1957 - you're proposing that people either use the BTC address part of their profile, or to put what you did in their "other contact" slot, right? I'll keep my solo club address in my BTC address on my profile as it is currently because the nice folks running the bit-x signature campaign require me to put my bit-x address in the other contact info portion of my profile.

I have 2 extra security ideas that will make fake addresses very difficult as long as I get to match the profile with this list. doesn't coinbase have an option to make multiple users confirm the payout to a certain person?
