Matthew is very likely betting $800,000 he doesn't have. Is this moral in your eyes?

Just going on the title, moral has nothing to do with it, it's just stupid to gamble with money you don't have. More likely a sign of addiction.
With what you're saying about MNW, what gives you the idea he doesn't have the money?

His biggest business venture consists of a failed private school. He can't complete a flash game on contract. Most of his ideas are sitting in incubation. Bitcoin Magazine isn't a multi-million dollar enterprise.

Again you're giving no evidence he doesn't have the money. I'm not following all this drama, but it's easy enough to work out that what your pushing here is very biased speculation.

Many investments are made using loaned or leveraged money. Perhaps all investment is immoral for you? Whether Matthew has the money right now is immaterial to the morality of the bet. His actions only becomes immoral if he loses the bet and cannot pay.

Ignoring him will make him disappear. Watch. He'll be back on a new nickname like "Jon Mason" saying something like "Hi guys, I'm new to bitcoin. What is the Matthew N. Wright character doing with that betting thing? Seems to be shady.....I don't know if I'd trust someone like that. We should probably work on kicking him out of the community" ROFL. Predictable trolls are predictable (and droll I might add)

Do you think it's the Atlas? I think you're giving Atlas strange and terrible powers. He couldn't have the staying power to produce such a constant stream of niggling. Unless you're using "Atlas" as a verb? Instead I think it's just someone with Atlaslike Personality Disorder. It would also explain the sheer volume of APD posts since there seems to be many forum members with the same disorder - although strangely it appears there is usually only one of them active at a time.

I suggest you visit and take a look at my Atlas collection: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=78149.0Yes, this is Atlas. On the topic, no, I don't think it is moral to bet money you don't have, unless you can liquidate some of your assets to get the money in case you lose.

I do keep an eye on your thread. It was what started to freak me out and made me start thinking that there must be an alternative explanation. That one person would be responsible for all Atlaslike annoyances of the forum started to make Atlas sound vaguely satanic.

Precisely. For the record, I have BTC available to send immediately to Matthew in the unlikely event that I lose my side of the bet.
